Abstract: An edger assembly for use with a mechanized vehicle includes a mechanized vehicle, laterally adjustable shafts extending laterally outwardly on both sides of the vehicle, and dual elongated arms attached at each end of the shafts each generally perpendicular to the shafts. The edger assembly also includes an edging assembly attached to each arm wherein the edging assembly has a blade. Further, the edger assembly includes a protecting arm connected to the edger and slidably positioned to engage an object prior to blade contact and a mechanical linkage. The mechanical linkage can be constructed and arranged to move in response to protecting arm movement, where movement of the mechanical linkage moves the blade from an edging position to a non-edging position.
