  • Patent number: 4766032
Abstract: A heat transfer sheeting combination of the type for being applied onto a fibrous material (10) to imprint a reflective design thereon, the combination including a sheet of substrate (12), the substrate (12) including a layer of fibrous material (20), a deformable layer (22), and an outer silicone layer (24). A layer of beads (14) is partially embedded in the silicone layer (24) and the deformable layer (22). A design layer (16) and an adhesive layer (18) are disposed over the substrate sheeting (12). A method of making the heat transfer sheeting combination includes the steps of passing the sheet of substrate (12) having the exposed silicone layer (24) through a mass of beads (14) to adhere a layer of beads (14) of the silicone layer (24) and fixedly securing the beads (14) to the sheet (12).

  • Patent number: 4657803
Abstract: A heat transfer sheeting combination of the type for being applied onto a fibrous article (10) to imprint a design thereon including a substrate (12) and a design coating (14) disposed on the substrate (12). An adhesive layer (24) is disposed on the design coating (14) and is responsive to heat and pressure for adhesively securing the design coating (14) to the article (10) and is characterized by the adhesive layer being transformable in response to the application of heat and pressure to a stretchable adhesive layer. A method of manufacturing the heat transfer includes the steps of applying a design coating (14) over a substrate (12) and applying an adhesive layer (24) being transformable after the application of heat and pressure to a stretchable adhesive layer over the design coating (14).

  • Patent number: 4401494
Abstract: A reflective heat transfer combination and the method of making same whereby a tacky mixture of tack wax and mineral spirits defines a carrier layer applied over a paper substrate capable of absorbing the carrier layer when melted in response to heat and disposing a layer of glass beads over the carrier layer and forcing the glass beads into the carrier layer and against the paper substrate while allowing portions of the beads to be exposed above the carrier layer. A liquid binder layer of acrylic plastic is disposed around the beads and over the carrier layer while leaving portions of the beads exposed and is dried to retain the beads in position. Thereafter a liquid reflective coat of acrylic plastic is applied over the binder layer and covering the beads to provide a reflective background for reflecting light back through the beads. While the reflective coat is liquid and before being dried, a powdered adhesive is disposed over the reflective coat and thereafter the reflective coat is dried.

  • Patent number: 4071139
Abstract: A packaged T-shirt assembly is disclosed. A T-shirt with a design disposed on its front portion is placed against a glass top panel of a rectangular positioning box which has a fluorescent light therein. The rays of fluorescent light shine through the top panel and through the front and back portions of the shirt to isolate the design. The shirt is then moved so that the design is centered within the outer periphery of the top panel. A flat stiffener, such as a record album assembly or piece of packaging cardboard, is then placed over the back portion of the shirt. The side sections of the shirt are then folded around the edges of the stiffener and, thereafter, the bottom and top sections of the shirt are folded over or atop the side sections. Tape strips are used to secure the side sections to the back surface of the stiffener and the top and bottom sections together. A wrapper of transparent material is then disposed around the assembly to enclose the shirt and stiffener.
