  • Patent number: 9153131
Abstract: A real-time drive assistance system and method are provided. The system includes a centralized architecture capable of determining and preventing, in real time, potentially dangerous road situations, increasing road safety. The system is based on a communication network obtained through specific portable mobile communication devices exchanging information related to the state of a plurality of vehicles in motion along a road network. The method includes periodical acquisition and sending of the information to a centralized processing unit using the wireless communication system of each portable mobile communication device; processing of the information in order to verify the occurrence of potential dangerous situations for the drivers of each vehicle; and sending of warning or danger signals to one or more of the portable mobile communication devices that can alert the drivers of the vehicles.

  • Patent number: 8958975
Abstract: A motor-vehicle driving style estimating system (100) of a motor-vehicle, comprising a measuring apparatus (1) of a kinematic signal representative of a motor-vehicle motion quantity trend (v(t)). The system is characterized in that it further comprises a kinematic signal low-pass filtering module (8) configured to provide a corresponding reference filtered signal associated with a reference trend of said quantity (vF(t)). Furthermore, the system comprises a kinematic signal and reference filtered signal processing module (2) configured to provide an indication of the driving style depending on a comparison of the motor-vehicle motion trend with the reference trend.

  • Patent number: 8769606
Abstract: The present description relates to a computer-implemented method, computer system, and computer program product for optimization of evaluation of a policy specification. In one aspect, the computer-implemented method for optimization of evaluation of a policy specification may comprise receiving the policy specification represented as a tree, the tree comprising a plurality of nodes. A visiting history of the tree may be determined by computing a density at least for each node in a subset of the plurality of nodes having been visited. The density may be determined by a relationship between a position of a node v in the tree and a frequency F(v) in which the node v is visited. The tree may be transformed with respect to the visiting history into a similar tree such that sibling nodes in the subset of the plurality of nodes are sorted in decreasing order according to their density.

Abstract: There are described a real-time drive assistance system and method. The system proposes a centralized architecture capable of determining and preventing, in real time, potentially dangerous road situations, increasing road safety. The system is based on a communication network obtained through specific portable mobile communication devices (16) capable of exchanging information related to the state of a plurality of vehicles (12) in motion along a road network, with a single centralized processing unit (10).

  • Publication number: 20120172017
Abstract: CO2G0 is a novel method to automatically estimate in real-time a person's CO2 emissions associated with transportation mode choices using data—specific inertial information gathered from mobile phone sensors. CO2G0 automatically classifies the user's transportation mode among eight classes by using a Functional Tree. The algorithm is trained on features gathered from an accelerometer, GPS receiver and digital maps. A working smartphone application for the Android platform has been developed and experimental data have been used to train and validate the proposed method. A second algorithm computes the traveled distance, through an optimized mix of GPS and Internet map services.
