  • Patent number: 8314285
Abstract: A sanitary napkin comprising a fluid permeable topsheet, a fluid permeable backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed therebetween is disclosed. The sanitary napkin can be a pantiliner. The absorbent core comprises relatively hydrophilic material defining a core outer periphery. The topsheet and the backsheet comprise relatively hydrophobic nonwoven material, at least one of the topsheet and the backsheet defining a sanitary napkin outer periphery that is substantially larger than the core outer periphery. The area between the core outer periphery and the sanitary napkin outer periphery is a breathable zone. The sanitary napkin further comprises a fluid impermeable barrier between the backsheet and the absorbent core, the fluid impermeable barrier being disposed within the core outer periphery.

  • Patent number: 7824385
Abstract: Sanitary articles such as sanitary napkins including several layers, wherein an ink is applied on at least one of the layers. The ink application area is situated at least partially above the core and extends outwardly across at least a portion of the periphery of the core, but does not entirely cover the core. The ink is visible in the finished article. The ink provides improved resistance to re-wet of the topsheet and side leakage of the core.

  • Publication number: 20040232024
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of sanitary absorbent articles for feminine hygiene of human wearers. In particular, the present invention relates to sanitary absorbent articles comprising non-aqueous volatile material, which has the tendency to vaporize at room temperature. These articles are packaged according to the present invention in a package, which is substantially impervious to liquids and vapours. This ensures that the amount of the non-aqueous volatile material initially present in the absorbent article does not substantially decrease during a longer period of storage or shelf life of the packaged article.
