  • Patent number: 8789806
Abstract: A vibration isolating device for isolating an object from at least one of vibration and shock from an external source. The vibration isolation device comprises such features as a mounting structure where the object is mounted to, at least a plurality of first springs coupled to the mounting structure to minimize coupling of the at least one vibration and shock to the object, and a shock stop. In addition, the device may include a plurality of stop pins that are separate from the mounting structure and arranged externally to the mounting structure. The stop pins can limit a displacement of the object when the at least one of vibration and shock exceeds a given level.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 8, 2013
Date of Patent: July 29, 2014
    Assignee: DRS Tactical Systems, Inc.
Inventors: Russell B. Taylor, Jeremy Hutcherson, Vinson Loos

  • Patent number: 5688466
Abstract: An alignment assembly for aligning heating lamps in a heating lamp assembly intended for use in an oven of a blow molding machine, the heating lamp assembly having a chassis removably positionable in at least one preselected location in the machine and including a vertical array of generally horizontally disposed lamps held in position by a lamp holder coupled to each end of each lamp. The alignment assembly has a baseplate including a coupling for coupling the chassis to the baseplate. A pair of standards are coupled to another plate movable relative to the baseplate projecting upward therefrom for holding a vertical scale and a plurality of vertically positionable and horizontally reciprocable gages indicate the relative position of the lamp holders.

  • Patent number: 4749256
Abstract: A mounting apparatus for mounting the pilot's display unit for a head-up display system in an aircraft cockpit affords a stowage position for the display unit which does not restrict the pilot's movement or obscure his vision, and further provides ease of transition between the operating and stowage positions. The mounting apparatus provides a crash-release feature which permits the pilot's display unit to breakaway forwardly upon impact and to be constrained in a forward position to prevent the display unit from rebounding violently rearwardly toward the pilot's head. The mounting apparatus further provides a quick-replacement capability which permits fast and easy removal and installation of the pilot's display unit with a minimum of tools and no need for realignment.
