  • Patent number: 6206456
Abstract: A lift for a travel trailer top is disclosed which includes novel corner posts or jacks each of which comprises a plurality of telescoping channel members for strength and rigidity and formed with integral marginal portions for receiving actuator push-pull elements.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 23, 1999
Date of Patent: March 27, 2001
Inventors: Virgil H. Steury, Edwin J. Steury
  • Patent number: 5951096
Abstract: A lift for a top of a travel trailer includes flexible push-pull elements extending from a centrally mounted actuator unit thorough flexible and bendable guide conduits to outer end fittings adjacent corner jacks for raising and lowering the top. The guide conduits are connected to L-shaped guide members of outer end fittings disposed in alignment with the jacks. The L-shaped members are mounted for swivelling movement around vertical legs thereof to facilitate alignment with the flexible guide conduits and assembly of the parts.

  • Patent number: 5704677
Abstract: A mobile housing is provided with a plurality of telescopic standards mounted on a base for movably supporting the top of the mobile housing between a lowered position and a raised position relative to the base. A first pair and a second pair of slidable pistons are mounted in the base for simultaneous movement between a first position and a second position, the movement of each of the pair of pistons being substantially parallel and in opposite directions to one another. A first pair and a second pair of tubes, are provided with longitudinally extending slots and a flexible conduit extends from each of the tubes to one of the standards. Each of the tubes of the first pair and each of the tubes of the second pair are disposed in spaced parallel relationship to each other between the first and the second positions.

  • Patent number: 4171843
Abstract: A mobile type housing is provided with a plurality of telescopic movable support elements which are mounted on a base structure for movably supporting the top of the mobile housing between a lowered position and a raised position relative to the base. A pair of lugs are mounted to the base for simultaneous movement between first positions and second positions, the movement of the lugs being substantially parallel and in opposite directions to one another. A plurality of flexible, elongated, incompressible connector elements are connected between the pair of lugs and respective ones of the support members for movement with the lugs during raising and lowering of the top from its respective lowered position and raised position. Drive means is coupled to the pair of lugs to effect simultaneous movement thereof between their first and second positions.
