  • Publication number: 20050273725
Abstract: A system for associating geographic data with an image data set comprises an input device operable to receive user input provided thereto and a memory device adapted to store an image data set is provided. The user supplied input specifies geographic data and the system associates the geographic data with the image data set.

  • Publication number: 20050117031
Abstract: A method, electronic device and archival storage system group digital images into a respective virtual fill roll (VFR) group. The method tags a digital image with a group tag. The group tag identifies the digital image as a member of a respective virtual film roll (VFR) group of digital images. The electronic device includes a computer program that includes instructions that implement applying the group tag to a digital image captured by the electronic device. The digital image archival storage system includes an image digitizer and an archival storage device. One or both of the digitizer and the storage device include at least a portion of a computer program. The computer program includes instructions that implement applying the group tag to the digital image captured by the image digitizer.

  • Patent number: 6842265
Abstract: Image display orientation control apparatus for use with scanner apparatus and display apparatus operatively associated with the scanner apparatus may comprise a first setting and a second setting. The first setting causes an image of an object scanned by the scanner apparatus to be displayed on the display apparatus in a first orientation. The first setting is preserved for subsequent uses of the scanner apparatus until changed by a user. The second setting causes the image to be displayed on the display apparatus in a second orientation. The second setting is preserved for subsequent uses of the scanner apparatus until changed by the user.

  • Patent number: 6292842
Abstract: A system of destination modules for transferring data from a source application to a destination application. When sending data, the source application loads a target destination module to perform the transfer. When there is more than one access mechanism available, the target destination module selects one of the access mechanisms, and loads an access mechanism destination module to process the data using the selected access mechanism. Similarly, if more than one data format can be used in the transfer, the access mechanism destination module chooses a data format and loads a data format destination module to process the data using the chosen data format. All three chained destination modules use the same interface, such that a destination module does not need to know if the module it calls to perform an operation uses another destination module to actually accomplish the operation.

  • Patent number: 5586212
Abstract: First and second elongate curved reflecting surfaces positioned in non-parallel, spaced apart relation collect light from an elongate light source and direct it onto a scanning area. One edge of the first curved reflecting surface is positioned adjacent the light source and the opposite edge is positioned adjacent the illuminated scan area so that the first curved reflecting surface extends from about the light source to about the illuminated scan area. The second curved reflecting surface is positioned in opposed spaced-apart non-parallel relation to the first curved reflecting surface such that the distance separating the reflecting surfaces at the light source is less than the distance separating the reflecting surfaces at the end adjacent the illuminated scanning area. An elongate planar reflecting surface is positioned adjacent the second curved reflecting surface so that it is substantially perpendicular to the illuminated scan area.
