  • Publication number: 20240164862
Abstract: A delivery arm assembly of a medical system includes a head having an end arranged to face a reference plane and a multistage slide mechanism coupled to the head. The multistage slide mechanism includes a long-range slide mechanism configured to move the head in a direction toward the reference plane and a short-range slide mechanism coupled with the long-range slide mechanism. The short-range slide mechanism is configured to stop further movement of the head in the direction toward the reference plane in response to a resistive force against movement of the head toward the reference plane.

  • Publication number: 20240167524
Abstract: A medical system includes a head having an end arranged to face a reference plane and a multistage slide mechanism coupled with the head. The multistage slide mechanism includes a coarse-float mechanism configured to enable movement of the head relative to the reference plane, and to prevent movement of the head toward the reference plane while allowing movement of the head away from the reference plane. A one-way brake associated with the coarse-float mechanism is configured to transition between a locked state and an unlocked state in response to a presence of or an absence of a first triggering event. In the locked state, the one-way brake prevents movement of the head toward the reference plane and simultaneously allows movement of the head away from the reference plane. In the unlocked state, the one-way brake allows movement of the head toward the reference plane and movement of the head away from the reference plane.

  • Publication number: 20240164946
Abstract: A medical system includes a head having an end arranged to face a reference plane and a multistage slide mechanism coupled with the head. The multistage slide mechanism includes a coarse-float mechanism configured to enable movement of the head relative to the reference plane, and a fine-float mechanism configured to limit a force applied through the head to an initial force, and to reduce the force applied through the head to a reduced force less than the initial force in response to a presence of a first triggering event. The first triggering event may correspond to a valid coupling between a cone attachment of the head and a patient interface coupled to an anatomical site at the reference plane.

  • Publication number: 20230128830
Abstract: A target surface in an eye is located using a dual aiming beam apparatus that transmits a first aiming beam of light and a second aiming beam of light. An optics subsystem receives a laser beam from a laser source, the first aiming beam of light, and the second aiming beam of light, and directs the beams of light to be incident with the target surface and aligns the beams of light such that they intersect at a point corresponding to a focus of the laser beam. An imaging apparatus captures an image of the target surface including a first spot corresponding to the first aiming beam of light and a second spot corresponding to a second aiming beam of light. A separation between the spots indicates that the focus is away from the target surface, while overlapping spots indicate the focus is at or on the target surface.
