  • Patent number: 11985542
Abstract: Techniques are provided for optimizing performance of a multi-link device (MLD). In one embodiment, a controller receives information about a filter response for a first multi-link device (MLD, determines, based on the information about the filter response, a filtering transitional region of the first MLD indicating a range of frequencies where there is energy leakage due to the first MLD device operating in a simultaneous transmission and reception (STR) mode, determines cost metrics for a plurality of channels by identifying a STR and non-STR (NSTR) ratio for each of the plurality of channels, and assigns, based on the filtering transitional region and the cost metrics, a first radio of an access point (AP) to one of the plurality of channels to enable the first MLD to operate in the STR mode when communicating with the first radio.

  • Patent number: 11979751
Abstract: Techniques for identifying one or more wireless access points (APs), from among a plurality of APs including 6 GHz radios, as candidates to operate in standard power indoor (SPI) mode. Identification is based on at least one of: determining that network switches associated with the wireless APs meet a threshold requirement relating to power over ethernet (PoE) for operating in SPI mode, determining, based on at least one of radio frequency (RF) density and channel quality relating to the plurality of APs, that the one or more APs should operate in SPI mode as opposed to lower power indoor (LPI) mode, and determining that operating the one or more APs in SPI mode improves quality of service (QoS) metrics for the plurality of APs as opposed to operating the one or more APs in LPI mode. The one or more wireless APs are configured to operate in SPI mode.

  • Publication number: 20240031770
Abstract: Techniques for automated wireless deployment configuration are provided. Environmental sensor data from a plurality of access points (APs) is received, and the plurality of APs are clustered into a set of clusters based on the environmental sensor data. Cluster classifications are generated by classifying each cluster in the set of clusters as either an indoor cluster or an outdoor cluster based on the environmental sensor data and one or more defined environmental values. A respective label is assigned to each respective AP in the plurality of APs based on the cluster classifications, and one or more of the plurality of APs are reconfigured based on the assigned labels.

  • Publication number: 20240015592
Abstract: Methods and a system described herein form collections of stations based on capabilities and classification of the station and on radio capacity and link budgets of the bands in which the stations operate. Once a collection is formed, a check occurs to determine if there is a rebalancing event, such as a change in the capabilities and classification of a station or a change in the radio capacity and link budgets. If so, then the stations are reassigned to different collections. If no rebalancing event occurs, then the assignment is checked to determine if the loads on the links are well-balanced. If so, a radio link recommendation is sent to the stations.

  • Patent number: 11855914
Abstract: Embodiments herein describe a group of APs that uses a shared radar cache to select a new channel after vacating a current channel when performing dynamic frequency selection (DFS). The group of APs can set aside memory to store status information about the DFS channels in the frequency band. For example, when one AP detects a radar event (and has to vacate a DFS channel), the AP updates an entry for that channel in the shared radar cache. The APs can also query the cache to determine a new channel after vacating its current channel. That is, the shared radar cache may store the most recent radar events occurring in a channel. In this manner, the APs can select a new channel that has little or no recent radar events, which reduces the likelihood the AP will have to vacate the new channel.

  • Patent number: 11832174
Abstract: Embodiments herein describe techniques for conveying performance parameters to client devices using BSS coloring. IEEE 802.11ax introduced BSS color to help with interference between BSSs operating in the same channel or partially overlapping channels in a frequency band. The BSS colors are typically assigned at random. However, in the embodiments herein, the BSS colors can still be relied to help with co-channel interference as intended by IEEE 802.11ax but also can convey performance parameters to the client devices. The AP can leverage the BSS color to convey (or encode) a performance parameter such as radio frequency (RF) conditions, quality of service (QoS) conditions, or a policy of the network in response to expected (or future) conditions to receiving client devices.
