Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems to facilitate automatic distribution of communications. In particular, a server may maintain data that indicates at least one registered subject-matter interest respectively for each of a plurality of users. Further, the server may receive a communication from a source user. The source user may be served by a particular base station. In response to receiving the communication, the server may identify one or more target users based on each target user (i) having at least one registered subject-matter interest that matches at least one subject-matter interest of the source user and (ii) being served either by the same particular base station that serves the source user or by a base station adjacent to the particular base station that serves the source user. The server may forward the communication to each identified target user.

Abstract: A method for selecting a data subscription on a multi-SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) mobile device includes: associating a plurality of application category groups with a plurality of active subscriptions; selecting an application to run; determining a category of the application; classifying the application into one of the plurality of category groups based on the category of the application; and automatically establishing a packet session for the application on the active subscription associated with the category group into which the application is classified.

Abstract: A method of wirelessly accessing services of a server computer by a mobile communication device. The method comprises receiving a short-range radio beacon signal associated with a server computer, sending a request for information about services provided by the server computer associated with the beacon to a service registry via a long-range wireless communication link. The method further comprises, in response to receiving information about the services provided by the server computer, connecting to the server computer, accessing a service provided by the server computer. The method further comprises receiving a second beacon signal, determining that the second beacon's identity is not identified in the white list, and, in response to determining that the second beacon identity is not white listed, not attempting to access a second server computer associated with the second beacon.

A second signal with a signal strength that is greater than the signal strength of the first signal is detected. A transmitter is disabled if N2m is triggered. The triggering of N2m indicates the presence of a channel fade for a predetermined first time period. The second signal is monitored for a predetermined second time period. Data is transmitted on a second traffic channel associated with the second signal at the expiration of the second time period.
