  • Patent number: 8862511
Abstract: In one embodiment, a mechanism for providing real-time audio-based financial asset information is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a trigger event related to a financial asset from a computer of a user of a financial asset information system while the user is away from the computer, contacting the user via a phone call, and playing an audio signal to the user where a change in sound volume of the audio signal correlates to a deviation of the financial asset from the trigger event.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 25, 2009
Date of Patent: October 14, 2014
    Assignee: Red Hat, Inc.
    Inventor: Vladimir Angelov Ralev
  • Patent number: 8009555
Abstract: In one embodiment, a mechanism for transparent real-time media server fail-over with idle-state nodes is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes replicating a start time of a request related to a bidirectional stream of media sent to an original master media server, receiving notification of selection as a new master media server after failure of the original master media server, determining an offset time by subtracting the replicated request start time from a current time, and resuming playback of the request at the offset time within the request.

  • Publication number: 20100218185
Abstract: In one embodiment, a mechanism for implementation of a user as a transactional resource in a telecommunications platform is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes initiating a transaction as part of a transactional application in a transaction processing architecture, performing one or more transaction operations as part of the transaction on one or more transactional resources of the transaction processing architecture, contacting a user of the transactional application as one of the transaction operations performed on a user-controlled transactional resource, and storing a result of contacting the user in at least one of the user-controlled transactional resource or a transaction manager overseeing the transaction.
