Patent number: 9168049Abstract: Electro-impulse intracorporeal lithotripsy comprises bringing electrodes of a probe in immediate electrical contact with the calculus and supplying to the electrodes of very short high voltage impulses capable to ignite electrical spark discharge and establish a discharge channel within the bulk of the calculus. The channel goes through the calculus and creates tensile stresses, destroying the calculus.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2006Date of Patent: October 27, 2015Inventors: Vladimir Chemenko, Valery Diamant, Marat Lerner, Stepan Khachin, Vladimir Khachin

Patent number: 7731722Abstract: A retrieval device for use in renal, biliary, vascular or other systems of a body includes a collapsible basket in a narrow sheath. A surgeon advances the device beyond an object to be removed from a body, such as a kidneystone, a gallstone, or a thrombus. The surgeon then retracts the sheath or advances the basket from the sheath. The basket deploys only to one side of the sheath. In some embodiments, the periphery of the basket has a flex point to enable the basket to easily collapse into the sheath. If the sheath is adjacent a body vessel, such as a blood vessel or a ureter, the sheath remains adjacent the wall, while the device deploys in such a manner as to seal against the walls of the vessel and block the flow of fragments, emboli, thrombi, or other undesirable objects.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2004Date of Patent: June 8, 2010Assignees: Vance Products Incorporated, Lithotech Medical, LimitedInventors: Shay Lavelle, Marvin O. Andrews, Frank J. Fischer, Jr., Walter N. Ryan, Valery Diamant, Stepan Khachin, Nadezda Yasko, Vladimir Khachin

Patent number: 7640952Abstract: A method for manufacturing the surgical device for removing a foreign object from a body and a retrieval basket of the device are described. The retrieval basket is adapted for entrapping and retaining the object located in the body. The basket comprises a structure having a proximal end and a distal end. The structure is formed by a plurality of filaments fabricated from a single or several wires. The filaments extend from the proximal end towards the distal end, and are bound together to define a plurality of strands. The strands ramify at corresponding branching points into loops having various shapes and sizes. At least a part of the loops are overlapped and/or interlaced so as to define a net, and thereby impart structural rigidity and dilatation ability to the basket when opened.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2005Date of Patent: January 5, 2010Assignee: Lithotech Medical Ltd.Inventors: Vladimir Khachin, Stepan Khachin, Valery Diamant

Patent number: 7553314Abstract: A surgical device for removing a foreign object from a body is described. The device includes a retrieval basket for entrapping and retaining the object located in the body, a basket control assembly comprising a tubular sheath adapted to penetrate into the body for reaching the object, and a manipulator for manipulating the basket for extraction the object from the body. The basket comprises a structure having a proximal end and a distal end. The structure is formed by a plurality of filaments fabricated from a single or several wires. The filaments extend from the proximal end towards the distal end. At least a part of the filaments are configured in the form of loops. At least a part of the loops are interlaced so as to define a net at the distal end, and thereby impart structural rigidity and dilatation ability to the basket when opened.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2006Date of Patent: June 30, 2009Assignee: Lithotech Medical, Ltd.Inventors: Stepan Khachin, Vladimir Khachin
