  • Publication number: 20080167245
Abstract: An isolated or purified nucleic acid molecule consisting essentially of a nucleotide sequence encoding the metastasis suppressor gene located at p21-p12 on chromosome 8 of a human (Tey 1), a variant Tey 1, or a fragment of either of the foregoing comprising at least 455 contiguous nucleotides; an isolated or purified nucleic acid molecule consisting essentially of a nucleotide sequence that is complementary to a nucleotide sequence encoding Tey 1, a variant Tey 1, or a fragment of either of the foregoing comprising at least 455 contiguous nucleotides; a vector comprising any of the foregoing, wherein, when the isolated or purifies nucleic acid molecule consists essentially of a nucleotide sequence encoding Tey 1 or a variant thereof, the isolated or purified nucleic acid molecule is optionally part of an encoded fusion protein; a cell comprising and expressing any of the foregoing isolated or purified nucleic acid molecules, optionally in the form of a vector; an isolated or purified polypeptide molecule cons

  • Publication number: 20070148060
Abstract: A system, including apparatuses and methods, for removing sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) present in a stream of gases via a dual-stage irradiation process employing a pulsed electron accelerator in the first stage to remove a substantial majority of the sulfur dioxide (SO2) from the stream of gases before removing a substantial majority of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from the stream of gases in the second stage. In an exemplary embodiment, the system comprises a stack gas decontamination system having a reactor with a first portion in which a pulsed electron accelerator initiates a first series of ionmolecular reactions in an ammonia-rich environment to convert the sulfur dioxide (SO2) into sulfuric acid salts and a second portion in which at least one direct current electron accelerators initiates a second series of ion-molecular reactions in an ammonia-rich environment to convert the nitrogen oxides (NOx) into nitric acid salts.

  • Publication number: 20060148741
Abstract: The invention provides an isolated or purified ribonucleic acid (RNA) molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoded by a human (Tey1) metastasis suppressor gene located at p21-p12 on chromosome 8 or a fragment thereof, wherein the isolated or purified RNA molecule comprises from about 10 to about 100 nucleotides. The invention also provides methods of diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of cancer, such as prostate cancer, using the isolated or purified RNA molecule.

  • Publication number: 20050069889
Abstract: An isolated or purified nucleic acid molecule encoding the metastasis suppressor gene, Tey 1, located at p21-p12 on human chromosome 8. The invention further includes methods of treating cancer comprising administering a nucleic acid molecule encoding Tey 1 or administering an isolated Tey 1 polypeptide. The invention further includes methods of diagnosing or prognosticating cancer in a mammal comprising assaying for the level of Tey 1.

  • Publication number: 20040248289
Abstract: Disclosed is a vector comprising a marker sequence, a hook capable of attaching the vector to a target molecule, and a vector diagnostic sequence having the same sequence as a target diagnostic sequence contained in the target molecule, wherein the marker, hook, and vector diagnostic sequence are arranged (5′) to (3′) such that the marker would be in between the vector diagnostic sequence and the target diagnostic sequence after the vector and the target molecule are attached via the hook. Also provided is a method of attaching two nucleic acid molecules together, comprising mixing a target molecule and the vector together under conditions that promote the attachment of the target molecule and the vector.
