    Abstract: The process for producing C.sub.4 -C.sub.10 ethylene alcohols of the formula: ##STR1## wherein (a) R.sub.1 is --CH.sub.2 OH, R.sub.2 =R.sub.3 =--H;(b) R.sub.1 is --H, R.sub.2 =--CH.sub.3, R.sub.3 =--CH.sub.3 or --C.sub.6 H.sub.11comprises hydrogenation of acetylene alcohols of the formula: ##STR2## wherein (a) R.sub.1 is CH.sub.2 OH, R.sub.2 =R.sub.3 =--H;(b) R.sub.1 is --H, R.sub.2 is --CH.sub.3, R.sub.3 is --CH.sub.3 or --C.sub.6 H.sub.11,in the form of technical products in the liquid phase on a membrane catalyst made of an alloy consisting of palladium and ruthenium at a mass ratio therebetween of 90-94:10-6 respectively. Hydrogenation of said alcohols is effected by means of hydrogen diffusing through a membrane catalyst at a temperature of from 60.degree. to 180.degree. C. under atmospheric pressure of hydrogen. The process is simple in its scheme and the equipment employed. It avoids losses of noble metals of the catalyst and makes it possible to obtain the desired products in a yield of up to 99.

    Abstract: A method for preparing 2,4-diaminophenol or 2,4-diaminophenol dihydrochloride comprising hydrogenation of 2,4-dinitrophenol on a membrane catalyst made of an alloy consisting of 90 to 98% by mass of palladium, 2 to 10% by mass of rhodium or ruthenium. Said hydrogenation of 2,4-dinitrophenol is effected by hydrogen diffusing through said membrane catalyst. The starting 2,4-dinitrophenol is used in a medium of water or a 4--37% aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid at a concentration of 2,4-dinitrophenol in said medium ranging from 2 to 50% by mass. The hydrogenation is effected at a temperature within the range of from 50.degree. to 150.degree. C. under a pressure of from 1 to 60 atm.

    Abstract: A process for producing aniline, residing in a catalytic hydrogenation of nitrobenzene by using hydrogen in a gaseous phase at a temperature of from 20.degree. to 260.degree. C. and under atmospheric pressure, using a membrane catalyst which is essentially an alloy of palladium and ruthenium taken in a mass percent ratio of 88-98:12-2, respectively, permselective to hydrogen; hydrogenation being carried out by feeding nitrobenzene on the one side of the membrane catalyst and hydrogen, on the other side thereof. The process enables one to obviate purification of the end product from the residual catalyst and thereby to avoid losses of metals of the platinum group, as well as to effect hydrogenation under milder conditions without the formation of any by-products.

    Abstract: The invention is related to a method of preparing a hydrogen-permeable membrane catalyst on a base of palladium or its alloys for the hydrogenation of unsaturated organic compounds.According to the invention the surface of a metalloceramic sheet on a base of nickel, copper or stainless steel with a thickness from 0.05 to 1 mm is covered with an organosilicon polymer which is subsequently cured at a temperature ranging from 20 to 150.degree. C.The curing results in the formation of a film of the organosilicon polymer with a thickness from 0.01 to 1 mm, whereupon a layer of palladium or its alloy with a thickness from 0.001 to 0.1 micron is deposited on the polymer film.The method of the invention allows decreasing by hundreds of times the consumption of palladium, and other noble metals such as ruthenium, rhodium, rhenium, silver, and gold.
