  • Patent number: 11820409
Abstract: A method produces movement information describing a movement of a vehicle. Accordingly, the vehicle is connected to a power transmission line, and at least one electrical variable relating to the power transmission line is measured, forming at least one line-based measured value, and the movement information is determined by using the at least one line-based measured value.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 2, 2019
Date of Patent: November 21, 2023
    Assignee: Siemens Mobility GmbH
    Inventors: Boris Celan, Volker Knollmann
  • Patent number: 11708100
Abstract: An apparatus for sensing and optimizing the stopping-point accuracy of a vehicle. The apparatus includes at least one sensor unit, which can be arranged on the vehicle, and at least one evaluation unit connected to the sensor unit. The at least one sensor unit is configured to measure a distance relative to a gap profile arranged at a stopping point to which the vehicle travels and to transmit the measurement result to the evaluation unit connected to the sensor unit. There is also described a corresponding system including the apparatus and the distance profile, and also a vehicle with such an apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20200156681
Abstract: A control method operates a rail vehicle. The method is carried out in a computer-assisted manner on the basis of a vehicle control program. Accordingly, it is provided that the vehicle control program operates with the use of detected driving and/or surroundings data being detected by on-board or train-board sensors.

  • Publication number: 20140088802
Abstract: A railway train control system having a multi-purpose display is disclosed. The railway train control system includes a human-machine interface having a first display and a second, display. The first display provides a train control interface that enables a first operator, such as an engineer, to control one or more functions of the train. The second display is a multipurpose display that can switch between a standard mode and an application mode. The second display displays a read-only display of the train control interface in the standard mode and displays applications to enable a second operator, such as a conductor, to complete various tasks in the application mode.

  • Publication number: 20140052315
Abstract: Incident, data of the type stored in a railway train crash hardened memory module (CHMM) and/or other information acquired by a railway train data recorder are transmitted to a remote data storage site. Beneficially the remotely stored information transmitted from the train's onboard recorder may be monitored and/or otherwise analyzed without having to wait for a scheduled periodic download of the CHMM. Parallel transmission and remote storage of incident data during train operation eliminates the need to carry a CHMM onboard the train or schedule dedicated incident data downloads while the train is stationary or otherwise out of service. Existing communications equipment for wireless data transmission already onboard the train may be used for the incident data transmission to the remote data storage device.
