The mobile communication device comprises a software application stored in a memory of the electronic device, when executed by a processor of the electronic device in response to detecting the second proximate display screen, communicates with the second display screen and ad hoc collaborates with the second display screen. The software application further adapts a graphic to display it on the first display screen and the second display screen, with one part of the graphic displayed on the first display screen and the rest of the graphic displayed on the second display screen, without displaying an opaque bar at an edge where display screens touch, wherein the graphic is scaled based on a size of the combined single display screen.

Abstract: A processor-implemented method of accessing content is provided comprising a server composing a first list of broadcast content, wherein each entry in the first list comprises a link to access a broadcast content associated with the entry. The method also comprises the server composing a second list of stored content, wherein each entry in the second list comprises a link to access a stored content associated with the entry, and the server dynamically aggregating entries from the first list and the second list to compose a content guide. The method further comprises presenting at least a portion of the content guide on a display, wherein at least one entry from the first list and at least one entry from the second list are present at the same time on the display, and presenting content on the display based on selecting an entry from the guide.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for admitting new participants to an ongoing conference session. In one example, a conference server hosting a conference session may receive a request for a UE to join the ongoing conference session. In response to receiving such a request, the conference server may determine whether to admit the UE to the ongoing conference session as a full participant or as a partial participant. When the conference server determines to admit the UE as a full participant, the conference server establishes a conference leg with the UE and permits the UE to communicate with each and every current participant of the ongoing conference session. However, when the conference server determines to admit the UE as a partial participant, the conference server may establish a conference leg with the UE and may permit the UE to communicate with just some of the ongoing conference's current participants.

Abstract: A mechanism is disclosed for facilitating the performance of communication services in a communication network. An enhanced proxy server receives and proxies to a voice mail server a message indicative of a call attempt from an originating party to a terminating party. Further, the enhanced proxy server extracts an outgoing voice mail message from a data store and makes the outgoing voice mail message available for the voice mail server to play to the originating party in a session established between the voice mail server and the originating party in response to the signaling message.

The delivery system includes a services aggregator and content aggregator for processing requests from the devices. The services aggregator processes the request to identify credentials for the devices that generate the request and to identify providers of content specified in the request. The content aggregator receives the content from the identified providers and formats the content based on limits imposed by the device. Because the devices are configured to allow the services aggregator and content aggregator to perform computational-intensive tasks associated with requesting and transmitting the content, the complexity and cost of the devices are minimized.

Abstract: A method and system for registering a client for a call-pickup service and for executing the call-pickup service for a new call placed to a given communication device. The call-pickup service may carried out, in part, by providing the client with notification of when the new call is placed to the given communication device, the client requesting that the new call be re-routed to a location other than the given communication device, and a server re-routing the new call to the location other than the given communication device. The location other than the given communication device may be the client that registers for the call-pickup service or another location.

When the incoming call is a VoIP call then the call is routed based, in part, on selecting the minimum fee required to terminate the call.

Abstract: A mobile node is associated with a username assigned by the mobile node's wireless service provider and a nickname selected by the mobile node's user. The nickname is different than the username. When the mobile node logs on for packet data services, the mobile node is assigned a home address and an on-line registration is established in a DNS server. The on-line registration associates the nickname with the home address. The DNS server may then be queried to determine that the mobile node with that nickname is on-line and/or to determine how to reach the mobile node with that nickname. When the mobile node goes off-line, the on-line registration may be changed to an off-line registration that associates the nickname with an address of a messaging server. The messaging server may receive messages for the mobile node and/or provide messages indicating that the mobile node is off-line.

Also described are systems for connecting telephone and cable networks to enable telephone services to be provided by cable host devices.

Abstract: A private wireless network is able to provide wireless telecommunication services to subscriber mobile stations that also subscribe to a public wireless network. The private wireless network includes a private base transceiver station (BTS), a private mobile switching center (MSC), and a gateway service control point (SCP). The private BTS provides a private network wireless coverage area within which the mobile station can communicate with the base transceiver station over an air interface. The gateway SCP has a private network database containing private network data records for subscribing mobile stations. A private network data record includes a private network service profile and a private network locator address. The public wireless network has a home location register (HLR) with a public network database containing public network data records for subscribing mobile stations. A public network data record includes a public network service profile and a public network locator address.

Abstract: A mobile station that is fully engaged such that it cannot be connected to an incoming call without being disconnected from an existing call receives an incoming call notification. The incoming call notification may, for example, take the form of a short message system (SMS) message or a packet protocol message, such as a session initiation protocol (SIP) message. The incoming call notification may identify the calling party and may explain how to take the incoming call. If the user accepts the incoming call, the mobile station is disconnected from existing calls and connected to the incoming call.

The phone memory also includes software features by which the user of the phone can access specific ad content. Abstract: A method and system for providing prepaid data service. A subscriber terminal may establish a connection with a communications network. Based on a balance of a prepaid account, traffic from the subscriber terminal may be directed to a self-service portal. At the self-service portal, a user of the subscriber terminal may provide a credit card to add value to a prepaid account and to select a type of prepaid data service. The subscriber terminal may then be granted access to a data network. The balance of the prepaid account may be adjusted in accordance with the prepaid data service that is provided. When the balance of the prepaid account meets a threshold, the subscriber terminal's access to the data network may be redirected back again to the self-service portal.

Abstract: A multi-mode mobile station includes a first interface for wireless communication with a wireless local area network (WLAN) and a second interface for wireless communication with a wireless wide area network (WWAN). An internetwork service control system controls how services are provided to the multi-mode mobile station via the WLAN and the WWAN. The same service logic in the internetwork service control system can control the provision of services via both the WLAN and the WWAN. For example, a service logic module can be executed to define SIP signaling to control the provision of a service via the WLAN and can be executed to define WIN signaling to control the provision of the same service via the WWAN. The internetwork service control system may also include a call state monitor that maintains the call state of the multi-mode mobile station via the WLAN and the WWAN.
