The invention further relates to methods of using the adenylyl cyclase polypeptides and polynucleotides as a targets for identifying agonists and antagonists that are selective for human soluble adenylyl cyclase. Inhibitors of human soluble adenylyl cyclase can be used as contraceptive agents.
