  • Patent number: 4638295
Abstract: A vehicular movement indicator safety system consisting of motion and status sensors on the dynamic moving systems of a vehicle, a programmed microprocessor control unit, and conventional signal indicators. The microprocessor is programmed to integrate data from sensors related to wheel, steering, brake, engine and transmission systems to determine the exact nature of changes in vehicular movement resulting from operation of one or more of the dynamic systems, to distinguish between a driver's signaled intent to turn or make a change in vehicular movement and the actual onset of the turn or change as determined by concurrent activation of dynamic systems, and to immediately activate signal indicators to produce clear, unambiguous and readily perceived signals corresponding to the changes in vehicular movement.

  • Patent number: 4379973
Abstract: A mechanically actuable switch having associated electronic circuitry contained within the switch housing, including circuitry operative to selectively provide momentary, alternate action, and multistation switching modes. Included within the switch housing are a voltage/current regulator, initializing logic, contact debounce logic, mode control circuitry, output buffers, an LED driver and an LED. The switch contact is typically a preformed wire spring configured to be pivoted about a central point from one state of actuation to another. The switch is operable over a wide operating voltage range, typically 3 to 18 volts.

  • Patent number: 4243853
Abstract: A subminiature rotary coded switch having a dual-in-line configuration. Flexible contacts making electrical connection with the dual-in-line terminals of the switch are mounted within a stationary body. A drum-shaped detenting cover has printed circuitry on its inner cylindrical surface, typically in the form of a flexible printed circuit board. The cover rotates the flexible board with respect to the body, producing a wiping action with respect to the flexible contacts, thereby producing the desired switching operations. Each such switch can be electrically equivalent to four single-pole double-throw switches and two of the switches of this invention can be mounted in one conventional 14-terminal dual-in-line array of holes in a printed circuit board.
