  • Publication number: 20060289640
Abstract: A device useful for oral drug delivery device consisting of: (a) a capsule, tablet or pill designed to disperse in the gastrointestinal system; (b) an RFID tag positioned in the capsule, tablet or pill, the RFID tag comprising an antenna; (c) an object selected from the group consisting of a magnet, a ferromagnetic object, a ferrite object and an electromagnetic shielding object positioned within, over or adjacent the antenna of the RFID tag to alter the antenna characteristics of the RFID tag so that if the RFID tag is interrogated before the capsule, tablet or pill disperses in the gastrointestinal system, the response of the RFID tag is sufficiently altered or attenuated to determine that the capsule, tablet or pill has not dispersed in the gastrointestinal system and so that if the RFID tag is interrogated after the capsule, tablet or pill has dispersed in the gastrointestinal system, the object separates from the RFID tag so that the response of the RFID tag is sufficiently detectable to determine that t

  • Publication number: 20060167197
Abstract: A copolymer composition including a copolymer having repeat units of structural formula I: where X is selected from —CH2—, —CH2—CH2— and O; m is an integer from 0 to 5; and each occurrence of R1-R4 are independently selected from H; C1 to C25 linear, branched, and cyclic alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkaryl, alkenyl and alkynyl that can include one or more hetero atoms selected from O, N, and Si; a group that contains an epoxy functionality; —(CH2)nC(O)OR5; —(CH2)nC(O)OR; —(CH2)nOR6; —(CH2)nOC(O)R6; —(CH2)nC(O)R6; —(CH2)nOC(O)OR6; and any combination of two of R1, R2, R3, and R4 linked together by a linking group. A portion of the repeat units having structural formula I contain at least one epoxy functional pendant group. The copolymer composition can be included with a material that photonically forms a catalyst in a photodefinable dielectric composition, which can be used to form a photodefinable layer on a substrate.

  • Patent number: 5047216
Abstract: A piping arrangement for two or three Claus catalytic converters and condenser sets used for recovering sulphur from gas streams containing hydrogen sulphide. One of the converters is operated at a sub-dewpoint temperature while the other(s) is(are) operated at a higher temperature for regenerating the catalyst. The piping arrangement includes two four-way switching valves that allow an influent gas stream to be switched between the two converters without leaving stagnant gas in the piping.

  • Patent number: 4994149
Abstract: In a process for the treatment of heavy oil, in which a hydrocarbon diluent is added to the heavy oil stream, part of the diluent is substituted by an LPG liquid stream. The LPG stream is added to the heavy oil stream after removal of light components including methane and carbon dioxide to reduce the vapor pressure of the stream, producing a sales oil stream.

  • Patent number: 4661242
Abstract: An improvement in a process for the treatment of heavy oil in which a hydrocarbon diluent is subjected to distillation prior to its addition to a heavy oil production stream, to remove at least some of the light components in the diluent that would otherwise vaporize in the treatment process. A distillation unit for use in the process is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 3930818
Abstract: An air cleaner is described for removing airborne contaminants in a room. The air cleaner includes a housing defining a linearly elongated duct in which is mounted, in stated order, a low efficiency filter, a high efficiency filter, and a blower. Suitable baffling is mounted to the housing to isolate the intake and discharge orifices of the blower and the blower is oriented to discharge air from the duct in a direction substantially coinciding with the direction of flow of air through the duct.
