Publication number: 20120016811Abstract: The present invention is a method, system and investment product for allocating or structuring investment assets (such as marketable securities, bonds, mortgages, or other property interests, options or derivatives). The system, method or product enables selecting or grouping a number of individual financial instruments together into a portfolio (e.g., a fund or trust) and assigning weight coefficients to the selected financial instruments based upon a predetermined scale. After assigning the weight coefficients, the system or method purchases the selected instruments based on the allocated total purchase for each instrument (i.e., the total price of each instrument reflects is the price per unit×number of units, which correspond the predetermined weight coefficient). Then, the purchased individual financial instruments are allowed to fluctuate and perform for a predetermined time period (i.e., a number of years and months) without any further significant adjustments to the initial portfolio.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2011Publication date: January 19, 2012Inventor: W. Patent number: 4479288Abstract: A saddle or U-bolt clamp is formed from a unitary sheet metal stamping folded to provide hexagonal sleeve formations which receive the legs of the bolt in axially slidable relation. Torque transmitted to the ends of the sleeve formations as the securing nuts are drawn up on the legs of the bolt against the saddle will construct the saddle and U-bolt's bight around the telescoped tubing parts of the exhaust system of vehicles for which such a clamp commonly is used. The heavy duty use for which such clamp is required is permitted even in those critical applications where the transverse profile of the clamp must be substantially reduced or restricted without loss of efficacy and strength of the clamp.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1983Date of Patent: October 30, 1984Assignee: Mercury Metal Products, Inc.Inventor: W. Patent number: 4383478Abstract: A pivotal connection between a gravity-actuated protective cover and a bracket structure for supporting the cover device on an exhaust conduit includes a center spacer that has a chrome hardened peripheral surface and is held between a pair of ears of the bracket by a conventional screw. A bearing sleeve or bushing encircles the spacer and is secured to the protective cover and has at least an internal surface permanently impregnated with a lubricant.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1981Date of Patent: May 17, 1983Assignee: Mercury Metal Products, Inc.Inventor: W. Patent number: 4380952Abstract: A pivotally mounted cover assembly for the end of an upstanding exhaust pipe has a pivot structure constructed to include a plastic sleeve-type bearing pivotally mounted directly on a pivot shaft; the plastic bearing provides a seat for a flange member formed on the pivotal support arm of the cover member. A cover support arm including a pair of the aligned annular flanges mounted on separate, aligned plastic bearings facilitates assembly and replacement of the pivot structure and eliminates the need for an inner bearing. The cover assembly can further include notches on a pivot support member to receive locking tabs formed on a plastic bumper member which is engaged by stop members formed on the cover support arm to absorb the impact and reduce the noise as the pivotal cover reaches open and closed positions on the end of the pipe stack.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1981Date of Patent: April 26, 1983Assignee: Mercury Metal ProductsInventors: W. Patent number: 4255928Abstract: A cover assembly is provided to be secured to the upper end of an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine maintained outdoors in such a manner such that a cap forming part of the assembly will cover the end of the exhaust pipe when the engine is quiescent. When exhaust gases exert pressure in the pipe during operation of the engine the cap will be raised against gravity off the end of the pipe to permit the gases to escape. The movement of the cap between open and closed positions is a rocking movement about a pivot and normally results in considerable clatter as the parts strike metal. Means are provided by the invention to reduce the clatter.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 9178Date of Patent: March 17, 1981Assignee: Mercury Metal ProductsInventors: W. Richard Jones, Albert Hartman, Jr., Earl Conrad, Harry J. Kraig

Patent number: 4063336Abstract: A clamp for heavy-duty use such as in clamping the telescoped tubing parts of exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. The clamp comprises a saddle portion including an arcuate pressure-applying edge adapted to engage the tubing and a conventional U-bolt that is adapted to engage the tubing diametrically opposite the pressure-applying edge of the saddle. The clamp saddle is made up of two very similar sheet metal members that are stamped in a suitable die or dies. Each member has a pair of spaced apart semicylindrical grooves formed therein, one along each opposite end of the member, there being an integral flange extending beyond each groove. One flange is wider than the other. Two of these sheet metal members are engaged face to face and the wider flanges bent over in reversed engagement upon the narrower flange of its opposite member. One of the engaged members has a tab integral with its upper edge that is also bent over into the upper edge of the other member in reversed engagement.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1977Date of Patent: December 20, 1977Assignee: Mercury Metal ProductsInventors: W.
