  • Publication number: 20230311242
Abstract: A process for aligning a laser in a gear inspection system is disclosed. The method comprises fixing a gear for inspection within a gear inspection system and emitting a first signal from a laser to a point of interest of the gear. A reflection of the first signal is received as the first signal reflects off the point of interest of the gear. Based on the reflection of the first signal, an orientation of the laser is adjusted. Subsequently, a second signal is emitted from the laser to the point of interest of the gear, and a reflection of the second signal is received as the second signal reflects off the point of interest of the gear. Values corresponding to the orientation of the laser are stored based on the reflection of the second signal.

  • Publication number: 20220099434
Abstract: A gear inspection system comprises a spindle that receives a gear for inspection. The spindle includes an arbor with a central tapered structure, an annular substrate coupled to securements, each securement having a post and a ball. The arbor includes a bias member (which could be the posts of the securements) to bias the securements toward the central tapered structure such that the securements maintain contact with the central tapered structure regardless of a location of the annular substrate. The gear inspection system also includes a fixing mechanism that positions the gear on the spindle, a laser that emits a signal at a point of interest of the gear creating a reflected signal, and a receiver that receives the reflected signal. A processor transforms inputs from a user interface into adjustment instructions wherein an adjustment in a certain orientation is independent of an adjustment in other orientations.

  • Publication number: 20070219562
Abstract: A method and apparatus for implanting various portions of a prosthesis into an anatomy. The instruments can include portions that allow for positive and rigid engagement with a selected prosthesis member to allow for positioning it relative to the anatomy. Further, various instruments can include portions that allow it to engage or match with marking portions or alignment portions on a first prosthesis member to align a second prosthesis member with the first one. Further, methods of using the various instruments are taught and providing for a less or minimally invasive procedure.

  • Publication number: 20060217815
Abstract: A constraining prosthesis to reduce the possibility of a dislocation of the prosthesis after implantation is taught. A constraining liner is taught to include a constraining passage smaller than an internal diameter of the liner. A head can include a portion that is small enough to be positioned into the liner. The head can include a second dimension that is greater than the opening to constrain the modular head within the liner. A kit is also taught for trialing prosthesis to provide and determine a customized and personal fit of the prosthesis for each patient.

  • Patent number: 4193657
Abstract: A multiple projecting contact pot head termination that is formed on an end portion of an armored cable that maintains the electrical conductors in the termination in fixed insulated positions relative to one another, and with the assurance that they will not short out under adverse conditions such as when the termination is removably connected to an electric motor that actuates a down hole pump in an oil well. In forming the termination, a substantial length of the armor is separated from an end portion of the cable and internal insulation removed from the cable to expose the insulated conductors. Each conductor has the end portion of insulation removed therefrom, and the bared end portion subsequently soldered to a tubular externally threaded copper connector. Each connector threadedly engages an elongate copper terminal, and in association with first and second tubular sleeves is held in a fixed longitudinal position within a retainer of fiberglass or the like.
