  • Patent number: 8336221
Abstract: A level for indicating the orientation of each of a surface, a first electrical device, or a second electrical device, the level including a first planar surface, a second planar surface, a web, and a vial. The web is coupled to the first planar surface and the second planar surface such that the first planar surface is spaced apart from and is parallel to the second planar surface. The vial has a long axis and contains a liquid and a gas bubble and is coupled to the web such that the long axis is substantially parallel to the first planar surface. A first perimeter is formed as part of the web, shaped substantially the same as a portion of the first electrical device, and sized to engage the portion of the first electrical device such that the vial is operable to indicate the orientation of the first electrical device.

  • Publication number: 20120000019
Abstract: A pliers that includes a first member and a second member pivotally coupled to the first member. The pliers includes a head, a handle, a first end defining a nose of the head portion, and a second end, opposite the first end, defined by the handle of the pliers. Ridges are disposed on the first and the second members adjacent the nose and together define a grip of the pliers. Sharp edges of the first and second members are adjacent the ridges and between the ridges and the second end of the pliers and together define a cutter of the pliers. An aperture extends through the first member adjacent a pivot and between the pivot and the second end of the pliers, and the threaded aperture and the second member define a threaded fastener cutter of the pliers.

  • Publication number: 20110296963
Abstract: A pliers that includes a jaw member removably coupled to a head of the pliers. The jaw member includes a grip surface and a flange including an aperture. The pliers further includes a fastener that extends into the aperture of the flange and an aperture of a longitudinal side of the head to removably couple the jaw member to the head. The jaw member is slidable along the jaw surface of the head from the first longitudinal side toward the second longitudinal side to uncouple the jaw member from the head when the fastener is uncoupled from at least one of the jaw member and the head.

  • Publication number: 20110291617
Abstract: An electrical assembly selectively receives power from an external power supply. The electrical assembly includes a base that at least partially defines a tool port and a battery port and an electrical tool selectively coupled to the tool port. A rechargeable battery pack is selectively coupled to the battery port and a circuit is supported by the base and is operable to direct power to the tool port and the battery port such that the external power provides power to the electrical tool to operate the electrical tool and to recharge the rechargeable battery pack.

  • Publication number: 20110167642
Abstract: A hand tool includes a first jaw assembly and a second jaw assembly. The first jaw assembly includes a first handle portion, a first jaw portion, a first pivot portion disposed between first handle portion and the first jaw portion, and a first rail disposed on one of the first pivot portion and the first handle portion. The second jaw assembly includes a second handle portion, a second jaw portion, a second pivot portion disposed between the second handle portion and the second jaw portion, and a second rail disposed on one of the second pivot portion and the second handle portion. The second rail is shorter than the first rail. A lock button is slidingly coupled to the first rail and selectively slidingly coupled to the second rail. A resilient member disposed between the lock button and the first rail to inhibit sliding movement of the lock button.

  • Publication number: 20100192736
Abstract: A driver tool configured to engage and drive the head of a threaded fastener includes a shank defining a longitudinal axis. The shank has a mating end and a driver end. A driver head is coupled to the shank adjacent the driver end. The driver head includes a first driving portion having a substantially square cross section normal to the axis and a geometric center along the axis. The first driving portion includes four walls and a corner at an intersection of adjacent walls such that the first driving portion includes a first corner, a second corner, a third corner opposite the first corner, and a fourth corner opposite the second corner. The driver head further includes a second driving portion including a first flange extending radially outward from the first driving portion and a second flange extending radially outward from the first driving portion. The second flange is opposite the first flange, and each of the flanges includes an end wall having a midpoint.

  • Publication number: 20100192382
Abstract: A hand saw includes a saw blade, a handle, and a blade carrier. The saw further includes a blade clamp assembly having a locking member that removably couples the saw blade to the blade carrier so that the saw blade pivots with the blade carrier about a pivot axis. An actuating button is manually movable generally transverse to a longitudinal axis of the saw blade by the user between an engaged position and a disengaged position. In the engaged position, the actuating button engages the blade carrier to retain the blade carrier and the saw blade in one of an extended position and a folded position. In the disengaged position, the actuating button is disengaged from the blade carrier so that the blade carrier and the saw blade can be pivoted between the extended and the folded positions of the saw blade.
