Abstract: A modular, quick-install HVAC control head is provided. The control head includes a face plate and housing on which various HVAC controls may be mounted. The face plate and housing clip together to form the assembled control head. The assembled control head fits into an instrument panel opening having a standard size. Clips on the HVAC trap a part of the instrument panel between the clip and a flange on the face plate to secure the HVAC control head in the instrument panel.

Abstract: A coupling assembly is provided such that a conduit having an annular bead and an annular seal can be slidably inserted into a specially formed port. The port is provided with a series of beveled surfaces that accommodate the seal in such a way that the conduit can be slidably inserted with a reduced risk of seal extrusion. An anchor plate is provided for bearing down on a side of the annular bead opposite the port in order to hold the conduit in place after insertion. The coupling assembly can include two or more conduits inserted into respective ports having the series of beveled surfaces. According to one embodiment, the port(s) also includes a counterbored surface at a depth of the port at or near where the end of the conduit reaches.

Abstract: An upholstery pad has a panel with a hinging axis that divides a fixed portion of the panel from a flap of the panel. The flap is continuously pivotable about the hinging axis between a relaxed position and a biased position. The panel assembled into the upholstery pad along with one or more padding members and a sheet of an upholstery-type material, a force is created within the upholstery pad which urges the flap to pivot toward the relaxed position when the flap is pivoted toward the biased position. This force, in combination with friction between the sheet and a substructure, retains the upholstery pad in place with minimal other mechanical fastening, if any.

Abstract: A bunk front (10) is disclosed for use with a bunk (12) in a vehicle such as a tractor. The bunk front (10) is formed of an extrusion (22) with a first portion (24) and a second portion (28). The first portion (24) has an upper section (32) and a lower section (34) forming an opening therebetween (26). The first portion (24) is secured on the front end of the bunk (12) by a series of teeth (40) on the first and second sections (32, 34), the wedging of the sections and, preferably an adhesive as well. The second portion (28) forms a step (30) which can be either covered by or exposed by a covering (64) depending on whether the bunk front (10) is to be utilized as a step or not.
