  • Publication number: 20230098239
Abstract: An elastomeric bicomponent fiber, including at least one sheath and a core, with non-blocking properties and a garment-like feel is provided. The core includes two or more polypropylene based elastomers and a secondary amide, and the sheath includes a non-elastomeric polyethylene. Further, the sheath can be present as a small portion of the total elastomeric composition, and the secondary amide can be present as a small portion of the core, while forming a bicomponent fiber with non-blocking properties and a garment-like feel, while maintaining good strength characteristics.

  • Patent number: 11267079
Abstract: Methods and systems for cutting or perforating webs are disclosed. A method of cutting or perforating a web can include providing a web including a film. The film can include a polyolefin polymer and a plurality of particles. The film can include a width and length defining a surface. The method can further include stretching the film to provide a stretched film. Stretching the film can provide a plurality of voids in the stretched film. The method can additionally include providing a laser assembly. The method can include directing abeam of light from the laser assembly upon the surface of the web to cut or perforate the web in at least one location.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 2019
Date of Patent: March 8, 2022
    Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.
Inventors: Peiguang Zhou, Paul Milbrodt, Wade R. Thompson, Vikram S. Kaul, Wen Yuan

  • Patent number: 7174257
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for measuring the relative difficulty in donning of a glove. The apparatus contains a glove mount for holding a glove to be tested in an open donnable position and a device for measuring the effort associated with donning the glove. The invention also relates to a method for measuring the effort associated with donning a glove by providing a testing apparatus having a glove mount and a device for measuring effort associated with donning of a glove, mounting a glove for testing on the glove mount so the glove is open and donnable, initializing the testing apparatus, and acquiring data from the device relating to the effort associated with donning of the glove.
