  • Publication number: 20240142332
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for tire condition monitoring, and more particularly for detecting slow leakage of inflation pressure. Data acquisition devices (e.g., tire pressure monitoring system sensors) are mounted onboard motor vehicles and collect data samples corresponding to at least tire inflation pressure. The collected data samples may e.g. only be transmitted for analysis while the motor vehicle is in a fleet yard or otherwise wherein the contained air temperature effectively matches an ambient temperature. A time elapsed is calculated from a first data sample within a defined sampling period, and a statistical model is applied for at least the data samples corresponding to inflation pressure with respect to the time elapsed. A tire slow leak event is ascertained based on an evaluated amount of decrease in the inflation pressure from the statistical model, and an output signal is selectively generated corresponding to the ascertained slow leak event.

  • Patent number: 8874365
Abstract: A system for and method of establishing a communication link between mobile vehicles is presented. The method may include acquiring first information associated with a first mobile vehicle. The method may also include determining whether to update the first information associated with the first mobile vehicle. The method may further include transmitting, via a transceiver module, the first information associated with the first mobile vehicle based at least in part on the determination of not to update the first information associated with the first mobile vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20070202185
Abstract: Stabilized substantially fluid-impervious microencapsulated delivery vehicles comprising an active agent are disclosed. The microencapsulated delivery vehicles have improved rupture force strength. In one embodiment, the microencapsulated delivery vehicles are heat delivery vehicles capable of generating heat upon activation. The microencapsulated heat delivery vehicles may be introduced into wet wipes such that, upon activation, the wet wipe solution is warmed resulting in a warm sensation on a user's skin. Any number of other active ingredients, such as cooling agents and biocides, can also be incorporated into a microencapsulated delivery vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6631777
Abstract: A vehicle designed specifically to pull persons standing upright on roller skates, ice skates, skis etc. The invention can be configured to operate on any surface and comprises of an engine driving a wheel or track, connected through a frame to a body pad complete with shoulder and arm supports. The body pad can pivot independently of the frame. Handgrip controls contain actuators for acceleration and braking. The purpose of the invention being to produce a vehicle that allows the operator to be in complete control and to be able to make abrupt turns, accelerate or decelerate, all in an efficient manner. The operator of the vehicle remains in close contact with the vehicle by means of a torso clamp or belt securing the operator to a body pad. The torso clamp or belt can be adjusted to automatically release and disengage the operator in the event of a fall.

  • Patent number: 6450667
Abstract: A lighting system comprising a reflector and an arc lamp designed for illuminating a wide area with an even light distribution. The reflector has a cap that is generally parabolic in shape except perhaps at its top where it supports an arc lamp. The arc lamp is preferably a high intensity sodium or mercury vapor lamp with a vertical arc tube mounted so that the lowermost part of the arc tube is positioned to be even with the lowermost edge of the cap. The glass bulb housing the arc tube may extend below the lowermost edge. In an alternative embodiment, the lowermost edge of the cap has an extended portion and a short portion. In this embodiment, the lowermost part of the arc tube is even with the short portion.

  • Patent number: 6357966
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for installing underwater synthetic pipelines whereas the pipeline has single or multiple ballast tubes, attached to the pipeline through the use of a band or fabric strap to contain the pipeline components in a fixed bundle, around specifically shaped primary ballast weights designed to impart the minimal amount of ballast weight necessary for sinking the pipeline to the sea bed. The pipeline and all of its parts are corrosion-resistant, and has the ballast weight reduced to the minimum required during launching and sinking phases. The final ballast weight is achieved after the pipeline has been positioned on the sea bed by filling the ballast tubes, attached to the pipeline, by injection or other means, with a mixture consisting of a substance which possesses a relative density that is greater than water.

  • Publication number: 20010017272
Abstract: A golf club locking device attachable to a golf club bag having a main portion divided into one or more compartments and a mouth portion forming openings in the bag for receiving golf clubs in the compartments. The golf club locking device comprises a locking member and a main member which fastens to the mouth of the golf club bag and includes openings corresponding to the compartments. The locking member is coupled to the main member and slides linearly in relation to the main member between a locked position and an unlocked position. In the locked position, the openings are constricted thereby preventing removal of clubs from the golf bag. The locking device is manufacturable as integral component of a golf bag.

  • Patent number: 6142651
Abstract: A lighting system comprising a reflector and an arc lamp designed for illuminating a wide area with an even light distribution. The reflector has a cap portion integrally joined to a visor portion. The cap portion is generally parabolic in shape except perhaps at its center. The visor flares outwardly at a low angle and is about three to six inches long, dropping approximately one-half inch so that it is no higher than the bottom of the arc tube of the lamp. The arc lamp is preferably a high intensity sodium or mercury vapor lamp with a vertical arc tube mounted so that about one-half inch of arc tube extends below the juncture of the visor and the cap.
