Abstract: Described herein are systems and processes for producing a pre-trip inspection (PTI) prediction for a cargo container. The PTI prediction makes use of real time data from a container, and historical data from the same container. In some embodiments a system includes at least one container having a sensor, a processor and a database, where the processor may use software to correlate sensor data with stored information from the database to produce a forecast of whether the container will require maintenance at its next entry to a geofence area. In some embodiments the system may have a communication device for transmitting data or instructions to a remote computer for processing. Methods of correlating sensor information and data base information are also described.
