  • Publication number: 20230049253
Abstract: A rail damper mounting apparatus including a clipping device adapted to clip onto a rail, and a mounting device adapted to allow an oscillator to secure thereto. The rail damper mounting apparatus forms at least three clipping points with a rail when the rail damper mounting device is installed to the rail. A rail damping system containing one or more such rail damper mounting apparatus is also disclosed. With at least three clipping points/areas in the mount apparatus, it provides a strong clipping force compressing the wedge-liked rail foot by a very stiff clip.

  • Publication number: 20170241507
Abstract: A coupling-damping thin layer of gap-filling material to be used at interfaces under compression and the thickness control techniques. The thickness of the layer is proposed to be controlled by an insertion of an elastic material into the gap-filling material. By selection of appropriate stiffness of the elastic material and the viscosity of the gap-filling material, the dynamic properties of the layer can be controlled to optimise vibration dissipation through hysteresis loop damping.

  • Patent number: 9366025
Abstract: A noise barrier is described having noise barrier panels capable of being moved by the force of wind from a dosed to an open position to allow passage of wind, so that the noise barrier has limited wind load. The noise barrier can be light weight because wind load on the noise barrier is limited. This provides that the noise barrier is easy to erect, possibly without requiring heavy machinery. The noise barrier panel is mounted on a mounting pole to be slide-able on the mounting pole, so that the noise barrier panel can be pushed from ground up.

  • Patent number: 8353464
Abstract: A Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) for reducing vibration and noise radiation from rails incorporates a series of oscillation mass (8) of different sizes held in position by layers of resilient material (9) and attached to the rail via several steel mounting plates (4). Each mounting plate (4) is fixed to the rail by two magnets (5). A bolt (10) is inserted through the mounting plates (4), resilient layers (9) and oscillation masses (8) alternatively. The bolt (10) is fixed to a middle mounting plate (4) such that different compressive forces can be provided on the two sides by tightening nuts (11) to different pre-set torques. When the resonance frequency of the oscillation masses (8) is tuned to that of rail, most of the rail vibration energy at resonance frequency is transferred to the oscillation masses (8) and eventually dissipated in the resilient layers (9).
