  • Patent number: 5201861
Abstract: An apparatus for the preparation of ice cream, milkshakes, sorbets, frozen desserts and the like, in each case from a pumpable starting mixture, comprises a storage container (1) for the starting mixture and a cooling or freezing cylinder (2) arranged below said container with which it communicates via a supply conduit (25), in which cylinder (2) a stirring and scraping mechanism (9) is arranged, the supply conduit (25) opening into an inlet chamber (7) located at one end of the cylinder (2), a discharge valve (19) being provided at the other end of the cylinder (2), only the cylinder (2) being provided with a heating (6) for pasteurizing the starting mixture, a thermostat (53) being provided to limit the wall temperature of the cylinder (2), and devices being provided for transporting the starting mixture from the inlet chamber (7) to the discharge valve (19).

  • Patent number: 4817396
Abstract: An apparatus for producing ice-cream from a flowable formulation consists of a storage container for the formulation and a cooling and freezing cylinder disposed beneath this and connected to the container by a feed pipe. An air line discharges into this cylinder, feeding compressed air which is to be whipped into the formulation. In order to prevent foaming in the storage container, a retaining means is associated with the feed pipe which largely seals the feed pipe when pressure obtains in the cylinder and in the storage container, substantially opening the feed pipe when the pressure therein fails.

  • Patent number: 4680944
Abstract: An apparatus for the preparationof ice cream, milkshakes, sorbet, frozen desserts and the like, from a pumpable starting mixture, comprises a storage container for the starting mixture and a cooling or freezing cylinder communicating with it via a supply conduit. A rotatably drivable stirring and scraping mechanism is disposed in the cylinder and the supply conduit discharges into an inlet chamber located on one end of the cylinder, a discharge valve being provided on the other end of the cylinder. Only the cylinder is provided with a heater for pasteurizing the starting mixture, and a thermostat is provided for limiting the wall temperature of the cylinder. Devices for transporting the starting mixture from the inlet chamber to the discharge valve are provided.

  • Patent number: 4522041
Abstract: In an ice-cream maker comprised of a freezing tank provided with a heating system for pasteurizing its contents and of a storage container, which can be cooled and heated, the storage container is connected via at least one connecting line to the freezing tank. In order to construct such an ice-cream maker in such a way that, on the one hand, it remains possible to properly pasteurize the ice-cream mix but that, on the other hand, changes in the flavor of the ice-cream mix due to overheating or prolonged thermal loads are precluded, at least the storage container is arranged in a heating and cooling chamber.

  • Patent number: 3930535
Abstract: An apparatus for the preparation and dispensing of portions of soft ice cream comprises a storage tank and a freezing cylinder disposed below the tank and connected thereto by a replenishing duct. The freezing cylinder having a heating device and an agitator in its interior. The heating device being adapted to cause the contents of the freezing cylinder to be partially evaporated and the steam flowing therefrom into the storage tank heats the contents of the tank to a sterilization temperature.
