  • Publication number: 20160095370
Abstract: A system for creating and ordering a novel personal inspirational message storage and display article, selectively displaying or sharing the message, and networking with others about stored and shared inspirational messages. The system includes an online subsystem to select, order and pay for a message storage article and to select or create a personal inspirational message for the article. Also included is an article manufacturing subsystem to transfer the selected message to a selected area of the article on the inner side of a flexible material of which the article is made.

  • Publication number: 20130020770
Abstract: This invention relates to a method to improve the performance of standard brush seals for rotating shafts. This invention relates to a design that will lower manufacturing costs associated with standard brush seals for rotating shafts. This invention relates to a design that will improve wear characteristics of a standard brush seal. Specifically, the invention is intended to reduce manufacturing costs by combining the standard sealing element of a brush seal with the low cost materials and manufacturing methodologies of a carbon seal. Specifically, the invention is intended to lower the overall weight of the brush seal assembly, thereby improving the life of the brush sealing element and reducing the wear characteristics on both the seal element and the associated shaft.

  • Publication number: 20110279110
Abstract: An inner chamber in a housing surrounding a first end of a drive shaft upon which the turbine blades are mounted, a gear ring within the inner chamber fixedly attached to the first end of the drive shaft, the gear ring having a plurality of spaced, ferrite extensions, two magnetic pickup sensors mounted within the inner chamber of the housing in near proximity to the spaced extensions providing indicia of rotating speed as the gear ring revolves with the drive shaft while the magnetic pickup devices remain stationary within the housing, and providing further that during operation, the electronic probe housing automatically sends electric signals to an electronic governor which causes the RPM of the steam turbine to increase, decrease or remain constant.

  • Patent number: 5713524
Abstract: An improved fire protection system which incorporates delivery conduits having an inner liner, preferably formed of plastic. Attachment of the nozzle assemblies to the conduit is made at the flanged end of a piping segment and, preferably, at the connection points between two piping segments. The connection is formed so that water is communicated from within the conduits to the sprinkler head while avoiding contact with metal surfaces of the conduits. A spacer assembly is provided which is placed between the ends of two flanged piping segments. The spacer assembly includes an inner plastic disk and outer annular fire protection ring. A lateral port is disposed through both the ring and disk and preferably threaded for the attachment of a nozzle or other dispensing means. The spacer assembly forms a metal to metal seal with both piping segments for fire protection. Either lateral edge of the fire protection ring may be crimped or crushed slightly to aid in forming this seal.
