  • Patent number: 7635466
Abstract: DNA sequences, recombinant DNA molecules and hosts transformed with them which produce polypeptides displaying a biological or immunological activity of human fibroblast interferon, the genes coding for these polypeptides and methods of making and using these DNA sequences, molecules, hosts, genes and polypeptides. The DNA sequences are characterized by in that they code for a polypeptide displaying a biological or immunological activity of human fibroblast interferon. In appropriate hosts these DNA sequences and recombinant DNA molecules permit the production and identification of genes and polypeptides displaying a biological or immunological activity of human fibroblast interferon and their use in antiviral and antitumor or anitcancer agents.

  • Patent number: 7468259
Abstract: A method for manufacturing recombinant neuraminidase by culturing in a suitable culture medium host cells which are transformed with a neuraminidase expression vector or infected with a virus which is transformed with a neuraminidase expression vector, wherein the expression vector comprises at least a part of the coding region of a neuraminidase gene of an influenza virus minus the region which codes for the membrane anchor, or a modified version thereof, preceded in phase by a signal sequence; and isolating the expression product neuraminidase from the culture medium. The invention further relates to vectors expressing the neuraminidase.

  • Publication number: 20020182178
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of IL-15 or active variants thereof and/or IL-15 activity enhancing compounds for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition for manipulating memory cells of the immune system, such as manipulating viability ad/or responsiveness of said memory cells. The IL-15 activity enhancing compound is for example lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The invention further relates to the use of IL-15 inhibiting or eliminating compounds for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition for manipulating memory cells of the immune system. Such inhibiting or eliminating compounds are for example anti-IL-15 antibodies, anti-IL-15R&agr; antibodies, fragments of these antibodies, e.g. the Fab or F(ab′)2 fragment, soluble IL-15R&agr;, fusion proteins consisting of soluble IL-15R&agr;, and Fc fragment, compounds, e.g. peptides, binding-and/or inhibiting functional IL-15 receptor, IL-15 antisense oligonucleotides.

  • Patent number: 6485934
Abstract: The invention relates to a regulation system for inducible expression of genes, comprising a lambdoid promoter, a gene coding for a repressor for the lambdoid promoter and a gene coding for an antirepressor of the repressor, which antirepressor is under the influence of an inducible promoter. The invention further relates to a regulatory replicon, comprising said gene coding for an antirepressor, an expression system, comprising said regulatory replicon, and an expression vector based on a lambdoid promoter, and also to a method for producing a gene product in a heterologous host, by providing a culture of a host comprising a heterologous sequence which codes for the gene product. Providing a culture of a host comprising a heterologous sequence is obtained by putting the expression of the heterologous sequence under the control of a regulation system, a gene coding for a repressor for the lambdoid promoter and a gene coding for an antirepressor, and by inducing the promoter of the antirepressor gene.
