  • Publication number: 20240171028
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a rotating electromechanical apparatus including a ring-cylindrical ironless stator arranged adjacent to the inner surface or outer surface of a casing, respectively, which stator includes a continuous hairpin winding having two layers; a method for manufacturing the continuous hairpin winding comprising folding-over a ribbon of a plurality of wires successively to form a flattened helical ribbon, bending, into each wire of the flattened helical ribbon a straight segment, thereby forming a flattened quasi-helical ribbon, and rolling the flattened quasi-helical ribbon into a cylindrical shape to form a cylindrical continuous hairpin winding, with the straight segments running substantially parallel to a cylinder axis of the cylindrical shape; and a folding apparatus for manufacturing the continuous hairpin winding.

  • Patent number: 5950501
Abstract: The low-loss pinion drive has a housing (2) in which the gear wheels are fitted in radial bearings (3) and preferably also an additional inner housing (4) enclosing the pinions (1) as closely as possible. At least the air and preferably also the lubricating and cooling oil can be evacuated from the inner casing chamber (9). The air is evacuated by a pump which is also suitable for removing the oil. The air can be replaced by a gas of substantially lower density than air.

  • Patent number: 4659047
Abstract: This invention relates to an appliance support such as for example for supporting kitchen appliances, such as microwaves. This is by way of example only. The support includes an elongate brace member, which is adapted for attachment to a wall or similar surface. The elongate brace member includes an attachment plate and an outwardly extending support flange. At least two substantially "L" shaped support members are provided. These include an elongate and substantially upright portion and an outwardly extending base or foot portion. The support members are so formed and are attachable to the brace member, so that they extend outwardly from and below the brace member. The outwardly extending support flange of the brace member and at least an upper portion of the upright portion of each support member, are so formed and adapted relative to each other that the position of the support members is adjustable relative to each other and to the brace member.

  • Patent number: 4572280
Abstract: The cooling of a continuously cast ingot as it emerges from the mold, during casting, is carried out by applying coolant directly to the ingot around its circumference. In order to reduce the extent of doming, which occurs to the ingot base when cooling is too strong, the coolant is applied, at least at the start of the drop, to zones via streams of coolant. The process can be realized in practice particularly simply with an electromagnetic continuous casting mold which has a cooling device featuring a nozzle, with a ring shaped opening for liquid coolant, directed at the surface of the ingot. A deflecting sheet with turret shaped tongues separated by openings is provided projecting into the path of the coolant emerging from the ring shaped gap. The deflecting sheet is positioned parallel to the main ingot axis and can be moved parallel to that axis.

  • Patent number: 4512386
Abstract: An adjustable mold for use in electromagnetic casting systems wherein the side walls of the mold are adjustable so as to allow for the casting of ingots of various sizes by a single mold.

  • Patent number: 4307772
Abstract: A mold for electromagnetic continuous casting has a supporting frame for an induction coil and a cooling device which features at least one nozzle for directing a liquid coolant onto the surface of the ingot being cast. A section (15) is provided in line with the stream of liquid coolant emerging from at least one nozzle such that it provides an impacting surface for deflecting the stream of coolant onto the surface of the ingot.

  • Patent number: 4096587
Abstract: Mixer for resin and sand comprises walls which form an inlet for the sand, an annular gap for the sand following the inlet, following which gap is an axially symmetrical mixing chamber and an outlet for the mixture; a supply arrangement with pipes for the separate components of the resin is provided in the mixing chamber, and a rotatable dished member is arranged beneath the pipes; two solids of revolution arranged coaxially one above the other are provided between the mixing chamber and the outlet, between which solids an annular intermediate interstice is left for the mixture, the lower of the solids of revolution limiting the mixing chamber in the downward axial direction and being rotatable; the dished member of the supply arrangement and arranged below the pipes for the components is connected to the lower, rotatable solid of revolution; that surface of the dished member facing the mixing chamber is made at least partially to rise radially outwards, and, spaced from the rising surface of the dished membe
