  • Publication number: 20080306747
Abstract: The invention permits the operator of a stateless proxy, or application broker to offer a reliable trustworthy charging system which is accurate in definable intervals in a simple manner to registered application service suppliers, or registered clients, in which, during the provision of the service, the client and server are continuously provided with the charges applicable and the charging function, by means of an independent third party, including those from the independent third party.

  • Patent number: 7313610
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an array for determining the IP addresses of a terminal array connected to an IP network by means of a telecommunication network. A pseudo-hardware address is administratively assigned as identifier to the subscriber connection of the terminal array. Said identifier is stored in the peripheral area of the telecommunication network and transmitted in an IP address request by the terminal array to a network management unit for assigning IP addresses. Said network management unit assigns an IP address using the identifier of the terminal connection and transmits said address to the terminal array.

  • Publication number: 20060031535
Abstract: Packet-based networks of the next generation work on the principle of separation of connection and data channel control. In the above networks, as opposed to current TDM networks, discrete network elements are used for connection control and data channel control, whereby the network element for data channel control is defined as Media Gateway and the network element for connection control is defined as Media Gateway Controller. Problems arise as a result of the physical and positional separation of the connection and data channel control, in particular the problem of performance loss as a result of greatly increased incoming signaling messages and greater distance-related signal delay times. According to the invention, said problems are solved whereby a part of the connection control is integrated in the Media Gateway, whilst the remaining part of the connection control, in particular that concerning the central control and monitoring tasks remains, as before, in the media gateway controller.

  • Patent number: 6934765
Abstract: The invention relates to a method, a network management unit for assigning virtual addresses and a network termination unit for determining virtual addresses of a terminal unit that is connected by means of a terminal connection and a subscriber-side network termination unit of a virtual network. A network management unit transmits a second identifier assigned to the terminal connection together with virtual addresses of the network termination unit in order to assign virtual addresses of the network termination unit in response to its address request messages. A virtual address requested with said second identifier is used as virtual address of the terminal unit.

  • Publication number: 20050163113
Abstract: The invention relates to a network node and to a method for adding a network node or an exchange in a communication network which may have the same signaling point code as another exchange in the communication network. Two internal local networks are established in an exchange of the telecommunication network and one signaling link is established from the second internal logical network to another exchange of the telecommunication network, via which all signaling of the other exchange is carried out. The invention is further characterized in that both exchanges use the same signaling point code.

  • Patent number: 6889377
Abstract: A system and method for uniformly administering parameters for a load distribution and load control of a computer platform includes a processor and a storage mechanism. Software components run on the processor, and include a manager component, which is a load model manager, that uniformly administers parameters for a load distribution and load control of the system. The platform further includes a catalog stored in the storage mechanism via which the load model manager administers the parameters. The catalog includes a plurality of tables. Each of the tables respectively includes a load model which is a complete, consistent set of parameters that influence the load distribution of the load control of the computer system.

  • Publication number: 20040081161
Abstract: The invention relates to a method, a network management unit for assigning virtual addresses (e.g. IP addresses) and a network temnination unit for determining virtual addresses(e.g. IP addresses) of a terminal unit (EAO) that is connected by means of a terminal connection (S0-0) and a subscriber-side network termination unit (IAD) of a virtual network (e. g. an IP network) (IP-NET). A network management unit (BOOTP-S) transmits a second identifier (d:e:0) assigned to the terminal connection (S0-0) togethcr with virtual addresses (x.x.x) of the network termination unit (IAD) in order to assign virtual addresses of the network termination unit (IAD) in response to its address request messages. A virtual address (y.y.0) requested with said second identifier (d:e:0) is used as virtual address of the terminal unit (EA0).

  • Patent number: 5655120
Abstract: Method for load handling in a multiprocessor system, particularly a multiprocessor system of a communication system, whereby arising jobs can be processed by a plurality of processors under real-time conditions. When individual processors proceed into overload due to locally heavy load situations, then a discharge of the local overload is achieved in that further requests arriving at the processor in this load situation are forwarded insofar as possible or necessary to other processors that are not overloaded.

  • Patent number: 5325426
Abstract: Method for overload prevention in a switching center of a communication network. For optimizing the overload prevention of a switching center, the operating personnel assign fixed priority levels bundle-by-bundle to the ports of the trunks. Since this allocation is often implemented in an unprofessional manner, the behavior of the switching center is correspondingly unfavorable in case of an overload. In order to avoid this problem, the priority levels for ports of trunks are automatically assigned by the software of the switching center in accordance with the method for overload prevention.
