  • Patent number: 4843950
Abstract: An adjustable axial piston machine of swash plate construction is provided in which the working pistons are supported against a swash plate that is formed on a rocker body 6, which in turn is supported with a semi-cylindrical support surface against a hollow-cylindrical bearing surface 4, in which case at least one pressure pocket recess 7, 57 is provided for generating a pressure cushion counteracting the bearing loads and it is connected with the high pressure line through channels in the servo piston that is capable of sliding in the operating cylinder loaded with high pressure.

  • Patent number: 4827833
Abstract: An adjustable axial piston pump in swash plate design is provided in which the piston support surface (swash plate) is formed in a semi-cylindrical rocker body, whose cylindrical surface is supported in a sliding manner in a hollow-cylindrical bearing box, in which case a pressure pocket recess is provided for hydrostatic relief of the bearing surface and it is connected with a pressure medium source, whereby this axial piston pump has one connection that is always a feed line connection and a second connection that is always a suction line connection and whereby the pressure pocket recess is located only the side of rocker body relative to the axis of rotation of the cylindrical drum on which the working pistons acted upon by feed pressure are supported.

  • Patent number: 4543876
Abstract: An adjustable axial piston machine in swashplate construction, preferably an axial piston pump, is provided in which the rocker body is supported with a semicylindrical surface by a friction bearing in a hollow semicylindrical surface and pressure pockets loaded with pressure medium are provided for hydrostatic relief of the bearing pressures in the bearing surfaces, in which case in a machine in which each of the two connections that can be loaded with feed pressure, a pressure pocket is provided on each side of the rocker body, where the pressure pocket that lies on the side on which the working pistons loaded with feed pressure also move is loaded with feed pressure.

  • Patent number: 4273517
Abstract: A control device for an axial piston machine in which the rocker controlling the angular orientation of the cylinder drum is shifted by a differential-action setting piston having a pin which engages in the rocker. The opposite end of this pin bears via a pressure body on one arm of a bell crank lever which can have a curved camming surface, the pressure body including a roller and being urged by a first spring against the bell crank lever. The other arm of the bell crank lever is engaged on one side by a control piston subjected to the pump pressure while the valve member which controls the pressure to the large-diameter side of the setting piston engages the opposite side of the bell crank lever and is urged against this opposite side by a second spring.

  • Patent number: 4216704
Abstract: A piston for a hydrostatic piston machine, especially an axial-piston pump or motor in which the piston is formed with a ball head riding in a slide shoe which is supported by a fluid-pressure cushion against a countersurface, e.g. a swashplate. The piston is formed with a central passage which communicates with a bore in the ball head, this bore being provided with a throttle to prevent the fluid medium from being forced at an excessive rate into the fluid-pressure cushion and thereby lift the shoe from the countersurface. According to the invention, the end of the piston remote from the ball head is provided with a gap filter of large area and narrow gap width to prevent large particles from entering and blocking the passage and the throttle.

  • Patent number: 4191095
Abstract: A hollow piston for a hydrostatic piston machine and especially for a swash-plate-type axial-piston pump or motor, comprises a hollow outer cylinder member which is formed at one end with a ball head and at the other end with a cover. Extending centrally through this hollow piston is a central post having its opposite ends secured to or engaging the opposite ends of the outer piston member and formed with a central bore communicating between a passage in the cover and a passage in the ball head. At least one of these ends of the central post is juxtaposed with a respective end of the piston and the juxtaposed ends are formed with a conical surface and an edge engaging this surface to seal the post to the outer member.

  • Patent number: 4142452
Abstract: An axial-piston machine of the type in which a prismatic housing, usually of rectangular or square cross section, receives a rotatable cylinder drum, the pistons of which bear against an inclinable control surface. The control surface is formed on a rocker or tilting box which can be tilted about an axis perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the drum. The rocker-setting elements are disposed between the housing bottom and the reaction surface of the rocker (against which the pistons bear), at the corners of a rectangle which closely circumscribes the orbit of the pistons. Consequently, the presence of the rocker-displacing means does not increase the dimensions of the machine over those necessary for a fixed control surface machine.
