  • Publication number: 20100195666
Abstract: A data network may be operated between a routing gateway for a subscriber and a data service provider providing a data service. More particularly, the data network may receive from the data service provider an identification of the routing gateway, an identification of the data service provider, and data flow characteristics of the data service for a session of the routing gateway using the data service provided by the data service provider. Responsive to receiving the identification of the routing gateway, the identification of the data service provider, and the data flow characteristics for the data service, the data flow characteristics of the data service for the routing gateway may be saved at the data network and forwarded to the routing gateway. Related data networks, data service providers, routing gateways, and computer program products are also discussed.

  • Patent number: 7739386
Abstract: Data architectures provide for managing Quality of Service (QoS) and/or bandwidth allocation in a Regional/Access Network (RAN) that provides end-to-end transport between a Network Service Provider (NSP) and/or an Application Service Provider (ASP), and a Customer Premises Network (CPN) that includes a Routing Gateway (RG). The data architecture includes a NSP access session record maintained at the RAN that defines QoS and/or bandwidth allocation for an access session, such as a Point-to-Point (PPP) access session, associated with the RG and the NSP. A corresponding NSP access session record is maintained at the NSP associated with the access session. The NSP access session record at the RAN and the corresponding NSP access session record at the NSP both define a QoS and/or bandwidth allocation specified by the NSP associated with the session or both define a QoS and/or bandwidth allocation specified by the RAN.

Abstract: A method of applying a treatment composition containing at least one treatment chemical to a fiber-based planar product. The method includes the steps of: a) applying the treatment composition to one side of the planar product, and b) allowing the treatment composition to penetrate the planar product at least in part. The treatment composition is heated before and/or during step b). The penetration of the treatment composition is preferably promoted by applying a subatmospheric pressure at that side of the planar product not treated with the treatment composition. A device usable for this method and a planar fiber-based product, in particular tissue is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5216836
Abstract: A hydroponic system for growing sweet potatoes and other root and tuber crops includes a growing channel incorporating a movable root contact/pressure plate assembly. The assembly consists of a flat, rigid PVC plate in which holes for inserting plants are drilled and a flexible vinyl film which is secured along the length of each side edge of the plate, by means of pressure fit connectors. The assembly is secured to the top edges of a growing channel, again by pressure fit connectors. The flexible film suspends the plate near and parallel to the bottom of the growing channel, with the flexibility of the film allowing upward movement of the plate within the channel as the plant roots grow. The assembly provides contact and pressure to the plant roots inside the growing channel thereby promoting enlargement of the roots. This enlargement causes the assembly to move upwardly, thereby maintaining the desired pressure conditions during growth. A suitable nutrient solution is supplied in the growing channel.

  • Patent number: 4556830
Abstract: A speed controller for a mill drive has two control portions. The first control portion has a first speed of response for controlling mill speed during normal operation. The second control portion has a second speed of response, faster than the first speed of response, for controlling mill speed following abrupt changes in load torque. The first control portion has a reference speed input and this is compared with actual motor speed and the result gives a current reference signal. The current reference signal is compared with a signal representing actual current to derive an error signal used to control the supply of power to the motor. The second control portion multiplies the current reference signal with a signal representing flux to provide a signal representing a model of developed torque. This is compared with a signal representing a model of load torque and the difference integrated to provide a signal representing a model of motor speed.

  • Patent number: 4422022
Abstract: A speed control for a DC motor drive having regenerative braking and a field reversing control, has a field current feedback circuit which includes a modifier to change the feedback signal in accordance with the saturation curve of the field to provide a feedback signal representing field strength or field flux. Because motor field strength is regulated as a function of the required field strength, the control tends to make the speed of response independent of actual field strength. Also, a feedback signal is provided which is a function of the product of actual field strength and desired armature current, i.e., related to torque, and this controls the speed signal so that the gain of the speed regulating amplifier is inversely proportional to field strength. This allows drive operation at reduced field strength while maintaining the response.

  • Patent number: 4394975
Abstract: A portable rock dust blowing apparatus comprising a wheel or skid supported framework upon which is mounted a blower designed to derive it's driving power from a belt engaging roller which is also supported on the framework. Also mounted on the framework is a pair of inverted U-shaped channel members which are employed for adjusting the framework relative to an endless belt travelling under the framework. A hopper for containing a rock dust or the like is used along with the aforesaid apparatus whereby the blower assembly will be employed for directing the rock dust on to the walls, ceiling and floor of a mine tunnel or shaft by one utilizing the rock dust blower of the present invention.
