  • Publication number: 20050213325
Abstract: A lighting element (1) containing a dielectric layer (5) of a metal oxide with a front surface and a back surface, where the dielectric layer (5) contains an arrangement of elongated pores (8) extending between front and back surfaces through the dielectric layer (5) and the pores (8) are open to the front surface, and a base electrode (7) made from an electrically conductive material is arranged on the back surface, and in the pores (8) are arranged emitter rods (4) of an electrically conductive material, and a translucent layer of counter-electrode (2) of an electrically conductive material is arranged over the front surface of the dielectric layer (5), and a layer of luminescent material (3) is arranged between the dielectric layer (5) and the base electrode (7). The layer of counter-electrode (2) is a part of the layer system of the lighting element (1), where the dielectric layer (5) has the function of a spacer and separates the base electrode (7) from the counter-electrode (2).

  • Publication number: 20030075020
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a grain refiner on the basis of an aluminum-titanium-boron prealloy. According to the inventive method, starting materials that contain Ti and B are introduced into an aluminum melt while TiB2 particles are formed, and the prealloy melt produced is allowed to solidify. The prealloy is set in motion at a temperature between the liquidus temperature (TLAl3Ti) of the Al3Ti phase and the solidus temperature (TSV) of the prealloy for a period (&Dgr;td) sufficient to disperse the TiB2 particles in the melt. The melt is simultaneously cooled off at a first rate of cooling (v1) so that the TiB2 particles function as the nuclei for the Al3Ti phase that is formed below the liquidus temperature (TLAl3Ti) and the surface of the TiB2 particles is at least partially covered by an Al3Ti coating.

  • Patent number: 6322872
Abstract: A rolled product of metal with at least one structured surface with light spreading structure. The structured surface exhibits a groove-type pattern in the form of a series of circular arc lengths that runs in the roiling direction and is wave-like in cross-section. The maximum angle of inclination of a tangent to the circular arc lengths with respect to a plane defined by the surface is 1 to 15°, and the radius of the arc lengths is between 0.1 and 20 mm.

  • Patent number: 6124039
Abstract: A coating substrate containing an aluminum or aluminum rolled alloy product for thin-film coatings for producing electronic components. The coating substrate prevents the interdiffusion of substrate elements and thin-film coating elements and enables the thin-film coatings to grow completely over irregularities. The local irregularities on the substrate surface to be coated, which have a maximum extension, measured vertically to the substrate surface, of less than 10 um and than 0.1 um, are such that the flanks of the local irregularities can be exposed to material deposition impinging on the substrate surface in a perpendicular manner.

  • Patent number: 5904989
Abstract: Interference layer which acts as a coloring surface layer on aluminum items, said layer containing an aluminum oxide layer and, deposited on this, a partially transparent layer. The aluminum oxide layer is a transparent, pore-free barrier layer produced by anodizing, of predetermined thickness d corresponding to the desired surface color of the interference layer; the thickness d of the barrier layer lies between 20 and 900 nm, and the partially transparent layer exhibits a wavelength dependent transmission .tau.(.lambda.) which is greater than 0.01 and smaller than 1. The side of the partially transparent layer facing away from the barrier layer is preferably protected from mechanical and chemical effects by an additional, transparent protective layer.
