  • Patent number: 5906463
Abstract: A protective ring for resisting contact corrosion for a connecting element such as a screw which can be fitted to a component and which has a bearing surface for bearing against the component includes a sealing ring of plastic material. The sealing ring is carried on the connecting element in such a position that before the connecting element is tightened the sealing ring provides a bead which projects in the axial direction beyond the bearing surface and which, upon tightening of the connecting element, can be permanently axially braced relative to the component to form an annular sealing surface which extends around the contact surface between the connecting element and the component. The sealing ring has a protective sheathing for the connecting element, which projects in the opposite direction to the bead.

  • Patent number: 5462395
Abstract: A sound decoupling connecting element (1) for two parts (27, 28) with a gasket (29) inserted inbetween has a screw (2) with a head (4) and a shaft (8) with a threaded section (10, 11) and a radially extending support area (14) resting on a counter surface in the end-mounted position. The connecting element (1) has a sound decoupling sleeve-like formed body 3 made of an elastomer material. The formed body (3) has limited axial movement on the screw (2) in the mounted state of the connecting element (1), but is held in an unlosable fashion. The formed body (3) has such an axial length that it protrudes the first part (27) with a continuation (19) in the direction of the gasket (29) in the state of being inserted in the first part (27). The continuation (19) of the formed body (3) has a recess (20) for taking up in an unlosable fashion the gasket (29).

  • Patent number: 5314281
Abstract: A tolerance river for highly stressed riveted joints possessing a shank (3) whose length is harmonized with the two components to be joined, followed by a retaining piece (5) interacting with a retaining collar and provided with grooves (9) on its circumference. An enveloping jacket (12) which links the root diameters d1, d2 of the grooves, widenes conically from the head of the tolerance rivet toward its opposite free end. The grooves (9) on the retaining piece (5) have decreasing groove width a1, a2, etc., and increasing asymmetry of the groove profile. The first groove (9) located at the retaining piece (5) of the tolerance rivet that is located after the shank (3) in the direction toward its free end, possesses rounded shaping r3 in the area of its root diameter d1 whose area (13) is strain-hardened.
