  • Patent number: 6047057
Abstract: A telecommunication system is described which comprises at least a first and a second end station. The first end station enables intruding on the second end station if the latter is in a busy mode by sending an intrude message to the second end station. The second end station is configured for reproducing the intrude message. This makes it possible to intrude without disturbing the call being held by the second end station.

    Assignee: U.S. Philips Corporation
    Inventors: Gideon M. R. Weishut, Mascha M. C. C. Van Ooster-Hout, Walter J. Slegers
  • Patent number: 5999606
Abstract: A telecommunication station having the capability to both block selected incoming calls and transfer other selected incoming calls. The station further has the capability to provide user messages to the blocked calls and thereafter, if desired, further divert the blocked calls to another selected station.

  • Patent number: 5923737
Abstract: A communication terminal for use in a communication system comprises a display unit having a display screen onto which call states of different terminals in the system are represented by means of icons of different sizes and shapes, depending on the current call state of the terminal itself and the call states of other terminals in the system, in a quasi three-dimensional communication scene so as to graphically represent and distinguish terminal users involved in a communication scenario, displaying of the icons being such that a terminal user of the terminal perceives a substantial change of the communication scene upon call state changes of the terminal and other terminals in the system.

  • Patent number: 5892794
Abstract: Known is a digital communication system comprising wireless terminals for voice and non-voice data communication. In order to get a flexible mixed voice and non-voice data communication system terminals for mixed real time voice and reliable non-voice data communication are provided in which set-up channels are dynamically assigned to non-voice or to mixed voice and non-voice communications without first releasing the assigned communication resources. Herewith, at a higher level layer such as an application layer very fast switching over is achieved while other devices in the system are fully unaware of such switching over. In multimedia communications, such a fast switching over is particularly advantageous.
