  • Patent number: 6196204
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine, which is operated with gaseous fuel, each intake passage has an intake valve, and a gas-injection nozzle is arranged in the end region of each intake passage outside of the combustion chamber. The gas-injection nozzle is used to form a coherent gas spray, which is injected at a high velocity directly into the combustion chamber in the cylinder. The gas spray is injected intermittently and is coordinated with the opening movement of the intake valve. The gas spray of gaseous fuel is first mixed with the air in the combustion chamber, where the high kinetic energy of the gas spray produces a high turbulence and results in an efficient mixing of the fuel with the air.

  • Patent number: 4264107
Abstract: A demolition tool for breaking solid materials, particularly rock or concrete in tunnelling, mining, demolishing and excavating applications. The tool has a single impactor (1) of the projectile type which is driven by high pressure liquid towards the material to be broken. A gas pressure accumulator (2) is included for storing high pressure energy. This energy is transferred at a high rate through short, wide and streamlined channel means (8, 13, 57, 9), having high capacity and low flow losses, to the impactor (1). Valve means (7) is provided in the channel means so that the accumulator (2) can be recharged during the return stroke of the impactor, giving a high repetition rate. A low pressure annular accumulator (5) drives the impactor during the return stroke.

  • Patent number: 4007800
Abstract: A force measuring device comprises at least one gauge element which, at least, in some regions, is conceived as a spring element, the deformation of which changes the volume of liquid contained in a chamber delimited by the gauge element; the spring elements are equal to each other in every respect and so positioned that the spring characteristic is the same for all of them that the deformation remains in the linear domain of the spring characteristic and that the local change of volume of the chamber is proportional to the deformation of the respective spring element.
