  • Patent number: 6847782
Abstract: Hot water dispersing systems having a self-resetting heater control switch that prevents heater burn-up if the water tank becomes empty, and a variable volume expansion chamber having a flexible bladder that is designed to withstand a pressure of at least 300 pounds per square inch.

  • Patent number: 6082643
Abstract: A waste disposer safety device comprises a first member positionable adjacent access to a waste disposer and a second member with access restriction, the first and second members being rotatable with respect with one another to achieve an "off" position and an "on" position whereby in the "on" position, in which operation of the waste disposer is enabled, there is no hazardous access to the grinding chamber thereof, and an "off" position in which the second member can be removed for access to the grinding chamber whereby in that position the grinder motor is inoperable. Switches for accomplishing the on/off condition of the first member and second member and of the waste disposer may be electromechanical or magnetic, among other types of switches.

  • Patent number: 5736173
Abstract: A preform injection mould includes an elongate mould core cooperating with a female mould and a neck ring in a manner to define a mould cavity therebetween. An injection nozzle in the female mould allows molten plastic to be injected into the mould cavity so that a preform moulded article may be formed. The neck ring is constituted by a pair of mating halves which can be separated laterally with respect to the longitudinal axis of the mould core. A taper sleeve surrounds the mould core beneath the neck ring. The neck ring halves are secured to diametrically opposed slides to facilitate lateral separation of the neck ring. A pair of slide taper locks contact a respective one of the slides to inhibit lateral movement of the slides and to back up the neck ring when injection mould is in a mould closed position. An annular formation is formed on the upper surface of the neck ring and is accommodated by a complementary recess formed in the bottom of the female mould.

  • Patent number: 4911335
Abstract: A combined air gap and dispensing device is adapted to be mounted on a sink, and comprises an internal air gap between inlet and outlet waste tubes. A liquid carrying pipe, such as a hot water pipe, also extends through the device to a faucet for being dispensed. A pair of fiber optic cables have exposed ends at the upper end of the device, and are coupled to a control system for valving liquid to the dispensing pipe. The control circuit may include a light source directed to one of the fiber optic cables, a photo sensor connected to the fiber optic cable to receive reflected light, and amplifying and demodulating circuitry, as well as a logic circuit responsive to determined conditions at the upper ends of the fiber optic cables for controlling the flow of liquid to the dispensing pipe. A pneumatic tube and pneumatic actuator may be provided instead of the optic cables and associated optic devices.
