Abstract: A method and system for packetized advertising carried out with machine readable and decodable information indicia, where the packetized advertisements are formed by associating any combination of a plurality of products and services with the information indicia. In response to a device capturing an image of the information indicia a universal resource locator (URL) is generated. The URL generates a webpage with a series of URL that correspond to the plurality of products and services that are associated with the captured information indicia.

Abstract: A system for generating an aesthetically pleasing abstract display on the screen of a color television receiver in timed relation to an audio signal derived from music or the like employs a filter network to divide the audio signal into a plurality of separate frequency bands. These signals are provided to the inputs of three modulators along with video pattern signals developed by a digital/analog mapping network connected to the outputs of various stages of an oscillator driven counter chain. The same counter chain produces the horizontal and vertical synchronization signals for the receiver so that the display is generated in timed relation to the raster scan of the television receiver. The three modulators receive certain of the audio signals and certain of the analog signals and their outputs are provided to the three chrominance inputs of the receiver either directly or via an RF transmitter which allows connection to the antenna of the TV set.

Abstract: A photo-electric light curtain for braking and terminating power to the ram of a press when an obstruction is detected in the curtain area uses an elongated fluorescent lamp as the light source. A number of spaced lens systems arrayed on the opposite side of the curtain area from the lamp focus on spaced points along the lamp. Fiber-optic strands connect the focal point of each of the lens systems with points arrayed about the stationary element of a circular commutator which are scanned by another fiber-optic element having one end affixed to a rotary commutator element and the other end feeding a photodetector. The output signals from the photodetector are processed to detect obstructions along the focal axis of any of the lens systems by fail-safe digital circuitry which provides an output when this blockage is detected for several cycles of the commutator. Counter circuitry, preset by manual switches, allows the system to ignore light blockages caused by permanent installations.
