  • Patent number: 10391231
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for separating blood using a centrifuge in order to obtain different blood fractions. A separation container may be filled with blood via a feed connection that can be aseptically connected to the container, the relevant blood fraction may be removed from the separation container via a removal connection that can be aseptically connected to the container and both the feed device and the removal device form a respective closed system during the sterile connection to the separation container. The separation container may have at least one feed connection that can be aseptically connected to the container and at least one removal connection that can be aseptically connected to the container, to which hermetically sealed feed and removal devices can be aseptically attached in a sterile manner.

  • Patent number: 10350340
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for separating blood, to a separation container and to a system, wherein different blood fractions—erythrocytes (64), buffy coat (65) and blood plasma (66)—are obtained, wherein blood is introduced into a separation container (1) and is then centrifuged into different superimposed, fluidically connected sections of the separation container, specifically a top section (4) for receiving the blood plasma (66), a middle section (3) for receiving the buffy coat, and a bottom section (2) for receiving the erythrocytes (64). The aim of the invention is to optimize the extraction of buffy coat. Said aim is achieved by means of the method and the separation container, wherein the optimization is geared to obtaining a defined phase boundary, and by means of the system, wherein the optimization is geared to achieving freedom from contamination from the time the blood enters the separation container and obtaining an easy-to-handle freezer container for cryopreservation.

  • Patent number: 9238096
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for separating blood using a centrifuge in order to obtain different blood fractions. The aim of the invention is to eliminate the risk of contamination during the supply of blood and the removal of blood fractions. To achieve this, the separation container is filled with blood via a feed connection that can be aseptically connected to the container, the relevant blood fraction is removed from the separation container via a removal connection that can be aseptically connected to the container and both the feed device and the removal device form a respective closed system during the sterile connection to the separation container. The separation container (4) has at least one feed connection (5, 6) that can be aseptically connected to the container and at least one removal connection (7) that can be aseptically connected to the container, to which hermetically sealed feed and removal devices (8, 9, 10) can be aseptically attached in a sterile manner.

  • Publication number: 20120130307
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for creating an access to a hollow organ, comprising a cannula (2), a guide wire (3), and a catheter (4), and it further relates to a special tool for removing the syringe from the catheter after catheterization, and finally it relates to a method for creating an access to a hollow body, wherein the hollow body is punctured by means of a cannula of a syringe, wherein the cannula and the syringe are separated after puncturing, wherein a guide wire is inserted through the cannula into the hollow body, wherein a catheter is inserted along the guide wire into the vessel, and wherein the guide wire is removed after the catheter is placed. The risk of contamination in placing the catheter is to be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20110192489
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and to a device for transferring a substance between closed systems (G1 G/Z, Z, G+G/Z), which prior to the transfer are connected in a sterile manner and can be disconnected from each other in a sterile manner, and wherein means for transferring the substance are provided. The goal is to enable a contamination-free transfer of the substance without gas inclusions between closed systems. This is achieved with respect to the method in that the pressure differences occurring during the transfer of the substance are compensated for within the system. This is achieved with respect to the device in that a pressure compensating unit (1) is provided, which has a sterile flow connection to at least one system (G, G/Z, Z, G+G/Z).
