Abstract: Apparatus and method for economically removing salts and heavy metals from water. The apparatus and method provide for flowing of the water across a transducer/resonator assembly which has enhanced resonation such that the water vaporizes and condenses without the salts or heavy metals. The water may then be used for drinking, irrigation, agricultural purposes, or injecting into subterranean formations related to mining or the recovery of hydrocarbons. The water may also be used to supplement or prepare water for reverse-osmosis desalination processes.
