  • Patent number: 6398202
Abstract: A mounting for a shock absorber or a pneumatic spring of a wheel suspension at the body of a vehicle is supported by bearing bolts, which are held in a bearing element. The shock-absorber strut is set at an angle and, with its free upper end and with interposing the supporting element, is held in a bearing bushing, which has two bearing bolts, which lie opposite to one another on a swiveling axis and which are supported cardanically and/or pivotably in a support fastened to the vehicle. The air spring is mounted only over the bearing element, the supporting element being omitted.

  • Patent number: 6029987
Abstract: A front axle for a motor vehicle is connected with a leaf spring mounted transversely to the vehicle. The spring is mounted on a cross member by elastic bearings located on both sides of a lengthwise central axis of the vehicle, and connected by these bearings to the vehicle body. A leaf spring is connected at its free ends with an A-arm and is mounted pivotably on a cross member secured to the body. Between the two pivot bearings of the A-arm in the cross member, the leaf spring is secured elastically in a spring bearing.

  • Patent number: 5897124
Abstract: A pivot bearing unit consists of at least one support comprising two shell parts for receiving individually insertable steering links. The support includes a section with the shell parts abutting one another and forming a bearing for a damping strut. The shell parts include a further pair of respective abutting surfaces which form a bearing support for a brake caliper. The shell parts also have respective spaced apart sections for supporting a central pin, which in turn accommodates a brake disc and wheel.

  • Patent number: 5064219
Abstract: An arrangement for locking an adjustable safety steering column for motor vehicles that is arranged to be tiltable and lockable with respect to the vehicle body, has consoles coupled to the vehicle body with guiding slots arranged approximately in a vertical plane, the steering column being tiltable between these consoles. An operating lever of the arrangement has an operating rod. An adjustable clamping device locks the safety column with respect to the vehicle body, and includes an eccentric element arranged in parallel to the axis of the steering column and axially on this operating rod. A pull rod has an end side receiving device in which a free end of the operating rod is pivoted, said pull rod extending transversely with respect to the axis of the steering column through the guiding slots. This allows the steering column to be easily adjusted by simply turning the operating rod.

  • Patent number: 4997201
Abstract: A wheel suspension for motor vehicles has a wheel guiding member and a spring strut, the spring element of which has at least two spring parts which are spaced away from one another in a direction of a spring axis. These spring parts form a clearance between one another and are connected with one another by an intermediate element. The spring parts are respectively arranged above and below a ring section of the tire. By means of an intermediate element which is directly adjacent to the section and extends approximately in vertical direction, they are, arranged in series, connected with one another.

  • Patent number: 4921265
Abstract: A front axle for motor vehicles, especially for the use for different tracks essentially includes a cross bearer secured at the vehicle body as well as wheel guide members retained at the cross bearer by way of joints. The cross bearer is thereby connected at its end with a wheel guide unit which includes a wheel guide member pivotally retained in joints at a longitudinal bearer; the wheel guide member together with the longitudinal bearer is adapted to be fastened as a unit at the cross bearer as well as at the vehicle body by way of threaded means in two track width positions.

  • Patent number: 4871187
Abstract: A wheel suspension for a motor vehicle, especially a double wishbone-type axle with a shock absorber-, respectively, spring-leg, which is supported on the body side and connected with a guide member. An intermediate member is arranged between the wheel carrier and an upper cross guide member and is connected with the shock absorber leg. The intermediate member includes two arms, whereby one arm is rotatably connected with the wheel carrier by way of a joint and the upper cross guide member is pivotally retained in the other arm. The intermediate member includes for the secure connection with the shock absorber leg a mounting sleeve in which an area of the cylinder of the shock absorber leg is retained. The shock absorber leg can be arranged adjustable in height by way of a special retaining arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4619466
Abstract: A wheel suspension, especially a front wheel suspension for motor vehicles, in which the wheel carriers of mutually oppositely disposed wheels are connected each with a guide member, especially with a cross guide member which is pivotally connected at the body displaceable in the vertical direction by the interposition of a shock absorber. The cross guide member of each wheel is connected with the free end of a leaf spring, especially of a leaf spring of a fibrous material, which extends transversely to the vehicle longitudinal axis and is supported at the vehicle body. The free ends of the leaf spring are connected with the cross guide members at a distance with respect to the latter by way of interposed guide arms. The guide arms are retained in elastic bearings relatively movably and pivotally to the cross guide members and include at their ends opposite these bearings, clamping devices for clampingly fastening the leaf spring.

  • Patent number: 4532786
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of a vehicle wheel from light metal with an asymmetric rim base, which is made from a plate or disk by rolling, pressing, cutting and aperture-forming steps. In order for the wheel to be formed in a simple manner without costly manufacturing steps, the edge of the disk or plate is angularly bent, according to the method of the present invention, prior to splitting and the subsequent forming of the rim base. This is necessary in order for the rim base to be formed with different lengths of legs having the same thickness.
