  • Publication number: 20060287078
Abstract: This application describes, among other things, a casino game for use in a gaming establishment wherein at least some of the components of the game include an attached radio frequency-responsive element, such as an RFID tag. In one example, the radio frequency-responsive element contains information regarding the corresponding attached components. In another example, the casino game contains a plurality of selected components having RFID tags. When the tags are interrogated, information provided by the tags can be used to determine whether components of the game have been replaced, are missing, or the like. Also, a method of identifying components in the game is disclosed. In one example, the method includes interrogating radio frequency-responsive elements attached to selected components of the casino game, receiving a response code signal from the interrogated radio frequency-responsive elements, and generating an output based on the received signals.

  • Publication number: 20060281558
Abstract: A gaming machine for conducting a wagering game includes a base and a top box connected to the base by a pair of hinges that rotate in fixed stops between full upright and full down positions. The hinges are mounted to respective plates in the base and top box having sufficient thickness and strength to support the weight of the top box without binding. Blind-mate connectors are disposed within the plates such that when the top box is tilted from the full down to full upright positions, electrical connections between the top box and base are established. Likewise, when the top box is tiled to the full down position, the electrical connections are broken as the connectors separate. A retractable support member secured to the rear of the base has an extendable member that is secured to the top box when installed on the base in the full upright position.

  • Publication number: 20050116020
Abstract: This application describes, among other things, a plurality of casino games located in a gaming establishment wherein at least some of the games include a reader component that detects a RFID tag in proximity to the reader component and produces detection information indicative at least in part of the detection of a particular one of a RFID tag carried by an individual in the gaming establishment. An information system includes software operable on the system to record information concerning the movement and activities of an individual in a gaming establishment as determined from reading individual RFID tags by the reader components. According to an alternate embodiment, games include RFID tags that can be detected by other games using the RF reader component. Accordingly, the information system can determine the location and movement of an individual through a gaming establishment, as well as determine which games are in proximity to each other where such games are outfitted with a RFID tag.
