  • Publication number: 20030038481
Abstract: In a non-detachable press fit arrangement between an end portion of a metal pipe and a socket of a fitting, the socket defines an interior space and is formed with an annular anchoring groove which faces the interior space for receiving a sealing ring. The press fit arrangement includes at least one holding element secured to the socket and cold formed together with the socket, whereby the holding element at least partially penetrates the material of the end portion of the metal pipe to realize a positive fit with the metal pipe.

  • Patent number: 6477757
Abstract: A pressing tool for the unreleasable connection of two tubes comprises a pressing loop consisting of at least two segments and a tongs-type pressing clamp. The segments situated in the closing areas of the pressing loop and the free ends of the two halves of the pressing clamp are equipped with mutually corresponding coupling devices having a hinge-type construction. Thus, the pressing clamp can be swivelled with respect to the plane of the pressing loop.

  • Patent number: 6427309
Abstract: Method of forming a compression coupling between a fitting and a tube inserted into the retaining section of the fitting. The method involves use of a shaped part formed so that, during insertion of the tube into the fitting, the sealing ring set into an annular retaining groove of the fitting is not damaged by the sharp, outer edges at the front end surface of the tube. Before or during the insertion of the tube into the fitting, the sealing ring is elastically outwardly deformed from the inner contours by means of at least one installed shaped part. The tube end is then inserted up to a contact surface, which forms the interior boundary of the retaining section of the fitting. There upon, the parts are pressed together by cold deformation of the parts. The method and the shaped parts are installed preferably in sanitary engineering and are used wherever liquids or gaseous media are carried through tubes.

  • Patent number: 6058755
Abstract: A press tool for non-detachably connecting through cold deformation a fitting and an end portion of a metal pipe received in a socket of the fitting, includes a wraparound ring for placement over the socket of the fitting, and a machine-operated clamping device. The wraparound ring includes a plurality of hinged links and is open at one closing area between two terminal links which are formed with pockets to form grip points for application of the clamping device. The clamping device has a pair of jaws which terminate in lobed ends for engagement in the pockets of the terminal links. The socket of the fitting has formed interiorly a receiving groove which opens inwardly for receiving at least one holding element which is formed with projections or cutting edges for penetrating the material of the metal pipe during radial cold deformation.

  • Patent number: 5615481
Abstract: To form a pipe fitting (90) having a body (92) formed with at least one outer bulge (93) defining an inner circumferential groove (93a), in which a sealing ring (93b) can be located, so that the fitting, upon circumferential compression, can sealingly engage a pipe (91) inserted therein, a blank (11) is inserted into a two-part die, joined together at a severing plane. The die is formed with an annular recess or groove (7, 8). A mandrel is inserted in the pipe to maintain its inner diameter, and an upset member is forcibly moved against the end portions of the blank. The material of the blank (11) will flow into the annular groove (7, 8), thus forming the circumferential bulge (93). To accurately dimension and shape the resulting inner groove (93a), a roller element is inserted into the pipe, and rotated about itself, and additionally moved in an orbital or spiral path against the inner wall of the initially formed groove, to define its shape and size.

  • Patent number: 4577353
Abstract: An air-regulation device is combined into a single subassembly along with a pneumatic switch that activates a circulating pump associated with a bathtub. The common housing has air channels that open into connector bushings on a connector. The inlets to the air channels can be closed or opened by means of a control knob with a kidney-shaped air passage. The piston of the pneumatic switch is mounted in such a way as to slide within a chamber in the center of the housing. The piston is activated by means of a disk positioned in a recess in the knob. Air flows around the disk in all operating positions.
