  • Patent number: 4206573
Abstract: Apparatus for tumbling rocks or the like has a generally-cylindrical canister with a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis that intersects that longitudinal axis at a right angle thereto. The canister is mounted so as to revolve around its longitudinal axis, and the canister is driven in revolution around the axis. The orientation of the longitudinal axis is adjustable between a first position wherein that axis remains in a horizontal plane as the canister revolves about the longitudinal axis and a second position wherein the longitudinal axis wobbles relative to the horizontal plane as the canister so revolves. In one form, the canister is seated within a yoke so as to revolve around its longitudinal axis, with that yoke being driven to effect its rotation about the aforementioned transverse axis. In another form, the canister is mounted within a gimbal ring within which the canister is pivotally mounted so as to rotate about its transverse axis.

  • Patent number: 4172402
Abstract: A pulley wheel mounting device for use with a continuous band saw blade trained over a plurality of band wheels. The adjustable mounting means supports at least one of the band wheels on the frame for rotation about a horizontal axis of rotation and for adjusting the vertical plane of alignment of said wheel about a generally horizontal diameter thereof. The mounting means includes a cylindrical trunnion and cradle assembly with an eccentric adjustment shaft engaged with a headed bolt supporting the trunnion, cradle and band wheel.

  • Patent number: 3949218
Abstract: A bank of high-intensity lamps is carried atop an emergency vehicle or the like. The bank is coupled to the upper end of a mechanical actuator in a manner to permit both rotation of the bank about a vertical axis and tilting of the bank between generally upright and horizontal orientations. Another mechanical actuator is employed for the purpose of raising and lowering the bank along with the first actuator. Various electrical circuitry controls and emplements lamp energization and signalization or interlocking with respect to different movements of the bank of lamps.
