The yeast strain of this invention may growth under the condition not only with high-concentration ethanol, preferably 6-15% ethanol, but also in high osmotic pressure, preferably 30-40% glucose or sucrose. The present inventors developed yeast strains resistant to high-concentration glucose and ethanol, suggesting that they would be valuably applied to much effective ethanol production, and also be utilized as a superbacteria having tolerance to various stresses for ethanol production with high efficiency.
