Abstract: In some embodiments, a cursor interacts with user interface objects on an electronic device. In some embodiments, an electronic device selectively displays a cursor in a user interface. In some embodiments, an electronic device displays a cursor while manipulating objects in the user interface. In some embodiments, an electronic device dismisses or switches applications using a cursor. In some embodiments, an electronic device displays user interface elements in response to requests to move a cursor beyond an edge of the display.

Abstract: Reduced-size user interfaces for providing weather information are disclosed. At an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display, indications of a location and a temperature at the location may be displayed. In some examples, a user may provide input through a touch on the touch-sensitive display and/or through a rotation of a rotatable input mechanism to display additional weather information, such as weather information for another location, another temperature, another time, and so forth. In some examples, the device may obtain data representing an upcoming activity, determine whether the activity is to begin within a threshold amount of time, and display weather information based on the upcoming activity. In some examples, the device may display an affordance at a position to indicate the time of day for which a weather condition is provided.

Abstract: An electronic device displays a messaging user interface on the display, the messaging user interface including: a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, and a message-input area that includes a first message input. While displaying the messaging user interface, the device detects a first input by a first contact at a location on the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to a location in the message-input area; in response to detecting the first input by the first contact, the device display an impact selection interface that includes a plurality of impact effect options.

Abstract: An electronic device displays a messaging user interface of a message application, including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, a message-input area, at least one avatar corresponding to a first other user included in the messaging session, and an application affordance. The device detects an input on the touch sensitive surface. In accordance with a determination that the input corresponds to selection of the at least one avatar displayed in the messaging user interface, the device displays a menu that contains a plurality of activatable menu items associated with the at least one avatar overlaid on the messaging user interface.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a first user interface of a first application. The device detects a first input by a first contact on the touch-sensitive surface that meets navigation-gesture criteria requiring that the first input includes a movement of the first contact across the touch-sensitive surface that crosses a boundary of a predefined edge region of the touch-sensitive surface in order for the navigation-gesture criteria to be met. In response, the device: in accordance with a determination that the first application is not protected, ceases to display the first user interface of the first application and displays a respective other user interface on the display; and in accordance with a determination that the first application is protected, maintains display of the first user interface of the first application without displaying the respective other user interface.

Abstract: An electronic device with improved methods and interfaces for messaging displays a messaging user interface that includes a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user. A first message that includes foreign language text is received from a remote device that corresponds to another user included in the messaging session. In response to receiving the first message, the electronic device displays the first message in the conversation transcript. In response to detecting a first input at a location that corresponds to the foreign language text in the first message: in accordance with a determination that the first input meets translation criteria, the electronic device performs a foreign-language-text-translation action; and in accordance with a determination that the first input does not meet the translation criteria, the electronic device forgoes performance of the foreign-language-text-translation action.

Abstract: An electronic device displays at least one device initialization screen. After displaying the at least one device initialization screen, the electronic device displays an instruction screen instructing a user to pair the external device with the electronic device. The electronic device sends first data via wireless communication, displays a pattern comprising identifying information of the electronic device, and receives second data indicating that the external device and the electronic device have been paired using the first data. After receiving the second data, the electronic device provides an aural or haptic indication that the electronic device and the external device have been paired. In some examples, the electronic device is a wearable electronic device and the external device is a smartphone. Pairing the electronic device and the external device may allow the devices to exchange information and operate interactively with one another.
