    Abstract: A novel diaper, or other protective undergarment, is disclosed where the undergarment includes multiple absorbent layers that can be individually deployed once a first layer has been wetted or soiled. Each absorbent layer protects against the leakage of bodily fluids both laterally and vertically and once each of such layers is wetted or soiled, it can be removed from the undergarment thereby exposing a ready and dry second layer.
