  • Patent number: 9572085
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a femtocell to provide local access to a remote data store. The method includes a femtocell receiving a registration request and a device identifier from a wireless communication device. Responsive to receiving the request, the femtocell may provide the wireless communication device with wireless service and may use the device identifier to cause a network share to be created on a local network to which the femtocell is coupled. The network share may then provide a second device on the local network with access to a remote data store associated with the wireless communication device. After detecting an absence or de-registration of the wireless communication device, the femtocell may remove the network share.

  • Patent number: 7925974
Abstract: A system and methods for distributing media data regarding a specific topic to a user. The system comprises a media-host device, server, and distribution module. The media-host device submits a request for the media data, receives a textual structure summarizing the specific topic, and presents the textual structure to the user. The server stores the textual structure. The distribution module communicates the textual structure to the media-host device. One method comprises receiving a request to present the textual structure, retrieving the textual structure, formatting the textual structure to be readable by a media-host device, and transmitting the textual structure to the media-host device. Another method comprises determining the format of the media-host device, formatting the textual structure to be presentable on the media-host device, and transmitting the formatted textual structure to the media-host device.

  • Patent number: 7559077
Abstract: A video system comprises a network interface, memory, video interface, and processing system. The network interface receives a network signal from a communication network wherein the network signal includes video. The memory stores the video from the network signal. The video interface transfers a video signal to a video display wherein the video signal includes the video from the memory. The processing system determines when to initiate the transfer of the video signal from the video interface. This determination is based on: a video display rate, a network transfer rate, a first amount of the video in the memory, a second amount of the video to be subsequently received in the network signal, and a user selection. The network transfer rate is slower than the video display rate.

  • Patent number: 7461033
Abstract: A system and method for generating textual structures describing the information contained on multiple web pages and blogs. The system comprises an ontology module, summation module, language generation module, and language bias module. The method comprises receiving a request for summarized web information, accumulating text from a plurality of web pages, parsing the accumulated text, indexing the text into a plurality of information sets, storing the plurality of information sets into a memory structure, aggregating information contained in the plurality of information sets to create a structure interpretation to satisfy the request, and creating at least one new textual structure from the structure interpretation. The ontology module parses and tags accumulated web text. The summation module creates a structure interpretation of the parsed and tagged web text. The language generation module creates textual structure describing the structure interpretation.

  • Publication number: 20060256952
Abstract: In a telecommunication network, a switching system routes a call to a service platform. The service platform transfers a prompt message over the call, collects caller-entered information from a caller over the call in response to the prompt message, and transfers the caller-entered information to a call processing system. The call processing system transfers the caller-entered information to a destination processor, processes a destination routing code from the destination processor to determine a destination routing instruction, and transfers the destination routing instruction to the switching system. The switching system routes the call to a destination in response to the destination routing instruction.

  • Publication number: 20060203990
Abstract: A communication system receives a call to a called number. The called number includes a destination number and a correlation code. The communication system routes the call to a destination based on the destination number but not based on the correlation code. The communication system transfers the correlation code to the destination with the call. The communication system receives a query from the destination indicating the correlation code. In response to the query, the communication system retrieves information from a database using the correlation code and transfers the information to the destination.

  • Publication number: 20060177035
Abstract: A method and system for routing a call based on calling device type is disclosed. In a communication network, an originating switch may receive a call request from a calling device seeking to connect with a dialed number. The originating switch may responsively send into a signaling system a call-setup message that conveys information including a calling device type indicator, such as a serial number of the calling device. A controller may then use the calling device type as a basis to select a destination to which the call should be routed in order to facilitate connecting with the dialed number. The invention can be usefully employed to facilitate routing of customer service calls concerning a calling device.

  • Publication number: 20060072736
Abstract: A telecommunication call center handles a call from a telecommunication network. The call center comprises a call center processor and a call center destination system. The call center processor receives and processes a message from the telecommunication network for the call to select a route code and to select a key, wherein the route code and the key are separate from one another. The call center processor transfers the route code and the key to the telecommunication network. The call center processor transfers the key and call-handling information for the call to the destination system. The destination system receives the key and the call from the telecommunication network, and associates the call with the call-handling information based on the key.

  • Publication number: 20060018305
Abstract: In a communication system, a packet telephone obtains an internet address from an internet service provider and discovers a location of the packet telephone. The packet telephone transfers a message indicating the internet address and the location. A service node receives the message and stores the internet address and the location of the packet telephone in a location database. The packet telephone initiates an emergency call using the internet address. The packet network service node processes the emergency call by processing the internet address of the packet telephone in the location database to obtain the location of the packet telephone and by transferring the emergency call to an emergency service along with the location of the packet telephone.
